On January 6, 2021, in the chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives, Vice President Mike Pence, in his role as presiding officer of a joint session, counted the electoral college votes for President, just as his predecessors had done for every presidential election since the founding of the republic. Sounds routine enough, doesn’t it?
Not quite.
For that act, Mike Pence became the most hated man in America among Trump supporters. Millions of Americans were left fuming at Pence for squandering the golden opportunity to flip what they were certain was a Democrat-rigged election.
Trump supporters with a grain of sense realized Pence couldn’t simply refuse to count electoral votes they didn’t like. Instead, the plan was for Pence to separate out the electoral votes of the states where there was known to be a competing set of votes in play and sending all the electoral votes back to those states of origin for “reconsideration.” Surely enough of these states would then return “reconsidered” votes to flip the election for Trump. President Trump himself was solidly behind this strategy.
The problem was, Pence was opposed to it and acted accordingly.
Some of the subsequent responses to Pence’s action, particularly in the media, have proceeded to degenerate into sheer Democrat behavior. (I can’t think of a more apt way to describe them.)

The author couldn't even attach his or her name to it. "Flyoverpen?" Who is that? Lez Zelcheney?
Ask Trump.
Benedict pence was and is a coward and J6 unmasked him - end of story.
Not going to change anything for me. Still not going to vote for him in 2024 if he decides to run.
Unfortunately, “his being correct on point” as you alluded to has brought this country to turmoil and looks like soon third world status.
We hear so much about science today. Statistical analysis is the bedrock for scientific analysis. Two career military information specialists testified that what happened overnight on Nov. 4, 2020 was a statistical impossibility. So you believe what you want but cheating was rampant and on an unprecedented scale during that election. Pence knew it but chose the easy way out.
Many of us Freepers said at the time that all the evidence of election fraud had to be uncovered and worked out before the presidential electors officially cast their votes in mid-December of 2020. Once that electoral vote happened, Congress — or the VP — had no authority to do anything at all to fix the problem on January 6th.
This country is on the precipice because church pastors have sat on their fat hindquarters while the devil walketh about, devouring his victims by the millions...now we reap the whirlwind.
And what would that accomplish?
Good Gawd, what’s next? Water isn’t really wet?

Pence is a godly man! I can’t believe the vitriol found in some FR posters! With a 7 million vote advantage and a electoral majority, Pence made the only legal decision. I would be proud to have Pence as President in these turbulent times!
Agreed. What is so galling to many of us is that the cheating was so glaringly obvious. They barely attempted to hide it. In your face! But now we're told, what you clearly saw didn't really happen. The stakes are too high for us to accede to this idiocy.
Pence gave me the creeps right from the get-go. I could not stand his way of speaking and his phony, smarmy, obnoxious voice. It sent chills up my spine. Phony, politician, religious phony.....and a voice that made a used-car salesman sound genuine.
Pence, if he knew there were questionable slates of electors, was wrong.
There were no questionable slates of electors. That was made certain when no Republican state officials in a position of authority formally recognized a competing slate of electors in those closely-contested states in 2020.
Assuming your comment was made seriously, the so-called "vote advantage" was based on obvious fraud. The "electoral majority" as also based on obvious fraud. This cannot stand. A patriot vice-president would have made his opposition to such fraud known at the time. Pence did not.
I’m not really a supporter of pants and kind of seeing more like a Gerald Ford or a George w. But there’s nothing in that article that I argue with. I hadn’t done a lot of research with it when everybody was talking about it but I found that most of the articles I read that we’re saying pants needs to do certain things besides certify this we’re never really all that convincing.
And importantly, though separately, when one party does something that is unprecedented, the president is set for the other party to do the same thing later.
Pence is not a Godly man. Pence has long been despised by persons whom you would likely find to be ‘Godly.’ Pence is an absolute fraud and that was realized by many years ago. Pence is the Dark Side of the Force. The Truth shall be revealed and you will then understand.
Keep watching meanwhile, the TV for your insights.
Pence—the spineless little worm Quisling??
