Climate change may increase risk of new infectious diseases

Climate change will result in thousands of new viruses spread among animal species by 2070 — and that’s likely to increase the risk of emerging infectious diseases jumping from animals to humans, according to a new study.

Researchers, who published their findings Thursday in the journal Nature, used a model to examine how over 3,000 mammal species might migrate and and share viruses over the next 50 years if the world warms by 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit), which recent research shows is possible.

They found that cross-species virus spread will happen over 4,000 times among mammals alone. Birds and marine animals weren’t included in the study.

Researchers said not all viruses will spread to humans or become pandemics the scale of the coronavirus but the number of cross-species viruses increases the risk of spread to humans.

Jaron Browne, organizing director of the climate justice group Grassroots Global Justice Alliance, said the study highlights climate injustices experienced by people living in African and Asian nations.

“African and Asian nations face the greatest threat of increased virus exposure, once again illustrating how those on the frontlines of the crisis have very often done the least to create climate change,” Browne said.

This is just “throwing crap against the wall” to see if anything sticks.

There isn’t anything remotely like science involved here.

Getting prepped for Fauci-wuhan bird flu (much worse than covid) after they are done splicing the furin cleavage to the virus just to make sure people can catch it.

Meanwhile, back in the AP news room;

Editor: What other bad things can we associate with ‘climate change’? Let’s keep this rolling folks. Can’t let up!

Intern: I just googled phobias.

Editor: Hit me

Intern: Arachnophobia. Fear of spiders.

Editor: Climate change increases insects and spiders. We ran that one last year.

Intern: Ophidiophobia. Fear of snakes.

Editor: Did it that one years ago. All too easy. Warming is good for reptiles.

Intern: Astraphobia. Fear of thunder and lightning.

Editor: Not bad. Let’s contact the sympathetic “expert” meteorologists and climatologists that we tapped for the increased hurricane stories. What else?

Intern: Trypanophobia. Fear of injections.

Editor: Can’t do it. Fauci wont let us.

Intern: Mysophobia. Fear of germs.

Editor: Worth a look. See if we have an microbiologists in the marxist rolodex

Emphasis mine:

Climate change may increase risk of new infectious diseases

Or it may not. Simians may achieve lift off while leaving my rectum, or they may not.

Climate change will result in thousands of new viruses spread among animal species by 2070...

Ah, the scammers are learning! They've got to be more definitive in their language. Although AOC's idiot deadline (how many years left?) was ill-considered. 2070 is a good timeframe - near enough that people may consider their children or grandchildren living to that timeframe. Yet far enough out they don't actually have to show anything happening anytime soon.

Guess what - thousands of new viruses will spread among animal species between now and 2070 - regardless of climate. There are roughly 1.5 million species of animals. Heck, in the human species alone we are finding 3 or 4 new viruses per year. If we assume roughly the same rate in all species and no change in rate: 3 * 1,500,000 * 48 = 216,000,000. So we can reasonably expect over 200 million new viruses in animal species in that timeframe. If the climate changes - and we have every reason to believe it will - after all it has been changing since the Earth formed. The climate was changing long before mankind showed up, it'll keep right on changing until the sun expands into a red giant and fries the Earth... Anyway, it is reasonable to expect a couple hundred million new viruses, so whether or not variability in the climate pushes that number up or down by a few thousand...no-one is going to notice.

What a bunch of sensationalist drivel.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face. Why didn’t the left start spouting this kind of “scientific drivel” sooner? Fauci is probably drooling at the prospect. Just think, another pandemic, followed by years of his controlling directions. He will be a god.

As opposed to “may”, the AP DOES induce the increased chances of stupidity - on a daily basis no less.
