An EgyptAir flight that crashed en route to Cairo, killing all 66 people on board, was brought down by a pilot who had a cigarette in the cockpit and started a fire, a new report found.
EgyptAir flight MS804 was traveling on May 19, 2016, from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Cairo International Airport when it fell out of the sky between the Greek island of Crete and northern Egypt.
France’s Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) has since concluded that pilot Mohamed Said Shoukair’s mid-air smoke break led to a fire onboard the Airbus A320 jet when his cigarette ignited oxygen leaking from an oxygen mask in the cockpit.

Ventilation on air planes turns over the air in the plane at a rapid rate.
Like the Apollo astronauts that got burned up on the ground. A spark in an oxygen-rich atmosphere. Who trained this “Pilot”?

So a faulty oxygen mask really. Then it was just waiting for a spark.
I’m calling bullshite on this one. I’m a pilot with more than 3800 hours. Chapstick sets my face on fire with an oxygen mask. Leaking oxygen is the cause of the fire if they are going down that road. Ever see what bursts into flames in a pure oxygen environment? Pretty much everything.
Hmm, wasn’t this the flight where the cockpit voice recorder caught the pilot saying “Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!” as he drove the plane into the ground?
