By now it’s pretty clear that Ukraine has been bombarding Russia as part of the former’s defensive campaign. As Russia’s wider war on Ukraine enters its second month, the Ukrainians at least four times appear to have lobbed Tochka ballistic missiles at military targets on the Russian side of the Russia-Ukraine border.
The latest possible strike took place in the early morning hours Sunday. A pair of oil depots in Bryansk, in western Russia 70 miles from Ukraine, exploded and burned through the following day.
While it’s always possible the blazes were the result of industrial accidents, it’s telling that the two explosions occurred nearly simultaneously, miles apart.
The Tochka attacks are just one of Kyiv’s methods of disrupting Russian operations on the far side of the border. It also seems Ukrainian attack helicopters have slipped across the border to attack Russian oil infrastructure. And there are the unconfirmed reports of saboteurs targeting rail lines leading toward Ukraine.
The Tochka attacks are the safest for Ukrainian forces and potentially the most sustainable. Kyiv began the current war with a sizeable arsenal of around 90 Tochka launchers and as many as 500 missiles with 250-pound warheads. There’s no evidence the Russians have destroyed any of the launchers.

Russia could do the same and attack arms convoys with US troops on them in Poland.
possible sabotage by Ukrainian operatives or Russian opposition????
This was a civil war for 8 years...Thousands died. The Ukrainians want to erase their Russian heritage. Zelinski is a Russian Jew by birth. He spoke only Russian until he was about 20.
Russia will not attack NATO, its conventional forces would be annihilated.
If Russia hadn’t sent 75,000 troops backed up by tanks, artillery, and aircraft to blow things up and kill people they wouldn’t have to worry about those same people shooting back at them.
It’s pretty simple, really.

“The Ukrainians want to erase their Russian heritage.”
That “heritage” includes Russians starving something like 6,000,000 Ukrainians to death and then ruthlessly oppressing them for 70 years or so. I’m pretty sure I’d want to erase that kind of “heritage”, too.

I’ve spoken English since birth I guess Great Britain should come over here and try to kill me or make me pledge allegiance to the king or something.
Nonsense, Russian invaders are not welcome even in Ukraine's southeast.
Ukrainians Protest in Russian-Occupied Kherson in 'Huge' Turnout
Yeah the Ukrainians must really love that heritage because they are fighting like h*** to kill as many Russians and keep them out of their country as possible.
Yeah… It truly sucks when people shoot back, lol…
What was that old line from a movie… “Don’t start nuthin, won’t be nuthin…”
Those weapons were transferred to Ukraine, so they are Ukrainian weapons.
If a country is invaded by an aggressive state and then, after two months, retaliates, that ain’t a “dangerous game”
Russia is a belligerent and should expect its territory to be subject to attack by forces of the country it invaded. Poland is not a belligerent, and If Russia attacks there, it should expect to be attacked by NATO.
FR is for the most part pro-administration, pro-WEF, pro-the usual suspects in the ukraine war.
if ukraine actually did those hits themselves, it is because the US set it up, held their hand, pointed at the trigger.
The CIA pretending they are Ukraine.
The Ukrainians don’t have “Russian heritage” but rather “eastern slav heritage”.
The Russians or rather Muscowites, along with the Ukrainians and Belarusians are three sister nations descended from Kievan Rus.
Moscow started as an outpost of one of the Kievan Rus states, Vladimir-Suzdal. When the Mongols came, the Duke of Moscow became TAX COLLECTOR for the great Khans, and remained so for centuries. They fought for the Mongols against others.
The Muscowites took the despotic culture of the Khaganate of Mongolia and is a successor state to that
Ukrainia started from the Cossacks who took on Turkic nomadic lifestyle and an anarchistic Democracy .
Bialorus is politically descended from the Rzeczpospolita, the commonwealth of Poles, Lithuanians and Ruthenians. Their traditions were republican and feudal. But they lost 25 % of their population so were traumatized.
The Tochka is the SS-21 mobile missile, a Soviet era legacy weapon.
A google search says Ukraine possesses 90 launchers and 500 missiles.
So, you believe the Ukrainians are incompetent tools because????
I guess the Russians have just been tools of the Chinese, all along, because it is obvious the Russians are not capable./S
Missiles?
Or something more like the Houthi drone attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure?
Missiles are so 20th Century...
“Zelinski is a Russian Jew by birth. He spoke only Russian until he was about 20.”
You are mixing up language and ethnicity. While they overlap, they are not the same.
The bulk of Irish and Scottish people speak English, not Irish Gaelic or Scottish Gaelic. But if you call them English for that reason, youll6get a kick up the caber.
Zelensky is Ukrainian. The Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine mostly feel Ukrainian even among those that have one parent from Muscowy.
Ukraine as a nation is young and old at the same time. Descended from the Kievan Rus and the cossacks, with a healthy set of genetics from the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth it had political entities as far back as the 1600s.
But culturally, it was dominated first by Poland until the 1800s and then by Muscowy.
From the late 1800s Moscow embarked on forced Russification. This was after the forced Frankicisation, Anglicisation, Germanizations starting from the creation of the concept of the nation state in the French revolution.
Ukrainian higher culture was stymied by Moscow from 18u0 to 1920.
It then had a brief freedom before being crushed by the Soviets.
However it remained a distinct Republic an SSR fro Russia a d in 1947 joined the United nations as a separate entity, the Ukrainian SSR.
