Return-to-office is driving Gen Z to quit

Companies who are demanding workers back at the office every day may actually see their workers join the Great Resignation instead. It may especially be a challenge to get Gen Z workers to work in person all the time.

That's based on survey findings from ADP Research Institute. The new report, "People at Work 2022: A Global Workforce View", included results from a November 2021 survey of over 32,000 workers in 17 countries. The countries surveyed include the US, ​​India, and the Netherlands.

I am not Gen Z and I go to work every day as required. It is not a pleasant environment as many workers are profane all of the time. However, I GO to work and suffer it. No sympathy for those who won’t go because they don’t like the way people talk to them. You will NEVER be able to fix that.

I actually give them credit here. Refusing to come back to the office is a rational response to a dystopian series of irrational and idiotic mandates over the course of the last two years.

I disagree. I have 3 Gen Z very young adults in the workforce (early 20s) and they long to be in the office. They are so happy that their workforces have returned to hybrid. 2-3 times a week in the office and business travel resuming. They hate zoom and not seeing coworkers and clients in person.

There's nothing in the office but lower productivity and the overarching risk that you'll offend some useless employee by not using the right terminology and you get fired because the korporate cowards and entrenched malcontent snowflakes got triggered.

I think novelty is wearing off for many workers. On the other hand, you have some workers who just want to take advantage and stay at home and do nothing but collect a paycheck.

Your very limited 3 person experience is NOT representative. It is anecdotal.
ADP is the largest payroll company in the USA. Their sample rate for their data is MILLIONS. Not 3. BTW, congratulations on those 3. You’re lucky to have them.
