The U.S. Navy is investigating what they believe is an intentional act of vandalism that damaged equipment within the Virginian-class submarine USS Texas (SSN-775) in the last month.
The suspected vandalism took place as the USS Texas has been undergoing maintenance at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Maine. Shipyard spokesperson Danna Eddy said in a statement reported by the Portsmouth Herald on Thursday that federal government equipment on the submarine was damaged on or around March 29 of this year.
The USS Texas arrived at Portsmouth in September 2020 and has been undergoing scheduled maintenance and system upgrades since then.
Eddy did not specify what equipment was damaged or describe the extent of the damage and said the shipyard was unable to comment further about the incident.

It’s almost like any American hating marxist can get a security clearance nowadays.
Hmmmm... The guy that sabotaged the Bonhomme Richard is still in the brig, right? Maybe there is a sympathetic conspiracy going on. Kinda /s

Either that or the CRT training in the military is starting to have an effect.

Why not I wonder.....every time those idiots in the Whitehouse send weapons to Ukraine they go out of their way with a press release that includes a laundry list of exactly what they’re getting. I’m sure putin appreciates it.....how stupid is that?
All those weapon systems are open source and only secret from the public like most things not overtly technical are.
Someone is going to prison for a long long time at least in my day you would get max sentences that you had to serve sequentially which normally would only get you probation.
The nuclear sub was probably sabotaged by Chinese nationals hired to do maintenance. We can’t discriminate against the Chinese who want to work on America’s nuclear subs. That would be racist.
Depending on how close they are to the end of availability, it could easily be a sailor who doesn’t want to go back on deployment.
It is not that uncommon.
There was also the contractor at Portsmouth who wanted to get off work early so he set a bucket of rags on fire and burned up USS Miami. He’s still sitting in prison for that.

You mean like Barack Obama? Once he was given access to the launch codes the US lost all credibility for secrecy and clearances.
Inappropriate punishment.
Should have been hanged from a crane and left there for a month or so as an example for his union buddies.
This,sadly.😞
He could have killed a lot of people. It’s not that easy getting people off a submarine fast during an overhaul with service leads, staging, etc.; much less when it’s on fire.
Fortunately that's not true (yet). It's vitually impossible to get a non-citizen aboard, or even in the controlled nuclear area around the drydocks.
I've had to get contractors in the CNA many times and is not easy to go through the process. I had one German contractor who showed up. He was told he couldn't go in. He couldn't understand because "vee are such goot allies."
Did it get tagged?
“It’s vitually impossible to get a non-citizen aboard, or even in the controlled nuclear area around the drydocks.”
All it takes is a US “delivery” by a pregnant foreign national. (A Chinese practice for at least 30 years).
The article addresses the saboteur of the Bonhomme Richard.
Politicians get an automatic “pass” on security clearances. If you want to blame someone blame those who voted for Zero so they do something “historic”!
