If this were ‘true’ (I have my doubts), then getting these folks to rejoin, show-up, get uniformed, and to be in position? You’d be talking about three weeks. I would assume that alcoholism-wise...these are all people with a problem, and their value might be marginal.

An off-subject, but wasn’t there a military pension cut back in 2017 for the Russian army?

NOTE - official NATO numbers are 7000 - 15,000 killed, article is going with the higher number

Russia lost 14,500 troops in the Afghan War, but that was over 10 years

but to lose 7-15,000 in just 6 weeks is staggering!

Russian army is in disarray. There is practically a break in the fighting going on for few days already. Just shelling the other positions.
It may take a while, until Russians rebuild their military. Some estimate like about a month.
It would be a great time to attack them right now!
But the Ukrainians also need to rebuild and rearm!
They need more supplies!

Have a retired military friend who had studied the Russian war in Afghanistan back in the 70’s/80’s say he was not surprised by the Russians poor performance in Ukraine. He said that post-WW II, the Soviet (and later the Russian military) was always a paper tiger. The problem, he said, is the same problem that all Russian bureaucracy has, rampant, ingrained corruption. He said when he was studying them, there were entire divisions and weapons systems that essentially only existed on paper, the state would send money for upkeep and purchase of new weapons and the people in charge would essentially just pocket the money or purchase the weapons and then turn around and sell them on the black market. There was rampant lying on readiness reports, basically the officers would say, “We are at 100% readiness!” When in reality they had sold all their guns and ammo and weren’t even feeding their troops on a regular basis.”

These “Russia is losing” articles are always from the Daily Mail.

Here’s another headline from them today: “’Aloha’: Barefoot Kim Kardashian shows off her chiselled abs in a skimpy pink silk bra and matching shorts set in Hawaii”

Great trusted source./s

Any article that starts with “Desperate” isn’t objective news...

It’s an opinion piece - or propaganda.

“The Russian army’s losses are so high”

Is the Russian military so weak that other countries might get the idea to invade Russia, or other Russian satellites might decide to fight for their independence?

Daily Mail propaganda is always good for a laugh.
Oh MucasMaximum, it’s remarkable that you can find a story that is snottier than the last one! You and the other Soros-Biden loving trolls must be making decent money to continue with this propaganda barrage.Take a break for a few days....

A man is standing in the zoo, drinking beer, looking at the crocodiles in the pool. Suddenly, a child falls into the pool. The man instantly jumps after him, picks him up in his arms and, fighting off the crocodiles with a bottle, gets out onto the parapet. Everyone around applauds, calling the man a real American hero, to which the man says: - I’m not American, I’m Russian. The crowd disperses in embarrassment. The following day, an article appeared in the paper: Yesterday at the zoo, a drunken Russian beat up a crocodile and took his lunch. The unfortunate animal had to be sent to a psychological assistance center.

Annalists also think that Putin can replace his loses by recruitment and realignment this time, but then he may need to do start total mobilization. I do not believe that would be popular in Russia.
Anyway, his best forces has been decimated already, all replacement will be worse. And, he is running out of smart ammo and smart missiles.
Mostly using traditional artillery and bombs.

Putlim complaints about the Daily Mail ring hollow from their hollow heads.

These same Freepers have fawned for decades over the fact that the foreign press is far more reliable than the MSM, as examples the German press correctly reporting on Palin's campaign; the Israeli press correctly reporting on anti-Obama sentiment; the Oz press correctly reporting on Gore sexually harrassing a licensed massage therapist; and more recently, Freepers praising the Daily Mail for revealing Xiden's frailty when he nearly broke his neck on AF1's stairs:

Nothing to see here: How most of the left-leaning US media totally ignored Biden's Air Force One stumble - while the foreign press did their job for them, UK Daily Mail | March 20 2021 | KEITH GRIFFITH

So you Putlim moonbats stfu and slurp your borscht and enjoy your daily ration of vodka. Your 2024 ballot with one name on it: Putin, will be delivered shortly, already checkmarked.

How the world has changed when such losses are considered staggering. American losses at the Battle of the Bulge were over 90,000 and Russian losses taking Belin were over 80,000.

Based on initial reports of the invading forces (180K) that would make the total casualty figure reported here 22%. That would mean just about every Russian unit would be combat ineffective. Months of Rest, resupply & refit would seem to be required — assuming all the materiel losses could be made good.

Even if we assume that the invasion force was more on the order of 225K that is still about 18%. The effects would be pretty much the same.
