Senate Democrats, backed by three GOP senators, voted on Monday night to break a deadlock on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination, paving the way for her to be confirmed by the end of the week.
Senators voted 53-47 to formally discharge Jackson’s nomination to the full Senate. It’s the first time the Senate has had to take the procedural step for a Supreme Court nominee since 1853.
GOP Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitt Romney (Utah) voted with Democrats to make Jackson’s nomination available for a full Senate vote.

These three aren’t on the judiciary committee. So why are you rambling?
It’s almost as if “our side” doesn’t have a clue as to how Senate procedure works.
To hear the rambling incoherent shrilling you would think that KBJ only advanced because of these votes. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Interestingly enough, if Loon Wood hadn’t convinced the dumbs to hand the Senate to the Democrats, this nomination would have died in committee because it would have never made it to the floor.
Turtle HAS TO GO!!
Don’t care if a demorat beats him. How can it be any different, than what we’re getting.
All three are Trump-haters as well. I'm assuming that they want another guaranteed, anti-American, anti-Trump vote on the USSC to thwart Trump's initiatives when he becomes President in 2024.
What “key position?” None of those three are on the judiciary committee.
It amazes me how dumb some people can be.

“Key position.”
Lol!
The justice added in 1853 was John A. Campbell of Alabama, who served only until 1861 (he lived until 1889). He was the second justice from Alabama, replacing the first, John McKinley, who died in 1852. The only justice from Alabama since then was Hugo Black, the Klansman, appointed by FDR in 1937.
Romney looks like a pedophile.
Then how is it that it is being reported that there votes are allowing the vote out of committee and to the full Senate?
Thanks. I just saw that. Bastards. All three voted to convict Trump in the 2nd impeachment trial.
Read the organizing resolution.
The committee deadlocked 11-11.
The organizing resolution says that after any tied vote in committee the majority or minority can discharge the nomination to the floor.
That’s what Schumer did.
The usual suspects.
Thank you for the explanation. The event is being mischaracterized by numerous sources in this case.
That said, those 3 RINO’s remain a bane upon the Republican Party. They will vote for a wholly unAmerican Leftist to the Supreme Court. They appear to be doing so willfully as an FU to all Conservatives.
Snowe did vote it out of committee, that was the critical vote.
Along with McCain’s thumbs down on repeal.
Why do you constantly lie?
Snowe isn’t on the judiciary committee.
The committee deadlocked 11-11.
I was talking to Republican Wildcat about Obamacare
Hubby and I left Republican when we moved from PA. to MD...just seven miles from state lines...
We got our MD. drivers license and registered for the first time in our lives to INDEPENDENT...
I throw the Republican surveys in burn trash..
Got a few phone calls, and told them we are DJT SUPPORTERS,, don’t bother us with B.S. and Fairy Tales Politics...
Well that was even dumber then. Democrats had a huge majority in the Senate back then and didn’t need her vote to move it to the floor.
The committee vote was 14-9 with Snowe, it would have went to the floor without her.
She also did vote against it on the floor.
As bad as she was, she was better than Angus King.
And, why is it that the GOP doesn’t take out the trash? Does anyone really think that the DEMs wouldn’t be tossing such turncoats to the curb if they consistently voted with the Republicans? Of course not. This is Reason #1 that I stopped paying my card carrying dues and giving my time to the GOP 30 years ago. The state and national GOP get NOTHING from me. If a GOP candidate wants my vote, they have to earn it.
