Two key executives with Donald Trump’s “Truth Social,” have quit, Reuters is reporting.
Josh Adams and Billy Boozer – the company’s chiefs of technology and product development – joined the former president’s venture last year. Their departure comes after the troubled launch of Truth Social’s iPhone app on Feb. 20 with many users still remaining on a waiting list and unable to access the platform.
Truth Social advertises itself as catering to conservative markets while championing free speech.
Adams, an Alabama native, co-founded Daring Bit Assembly, a product and software development company. Reuters reported Adams filed a lawsuit in May 2021 against Gov. Kay Ivey and health officials alleging the state’s mask mandate during the COVID-19 pandemic violated the U.S. and Alabama Constitution. The case was later dismissed.
Boozer, who previously lived in Alabama, had frequently collaborated with Adams in previous projects, Reuters reported. He brought a “strong command” of front-end technology for users, the stored noted.
Neither Adams nor Boozer commented responded to Reuter’s request for comment.
And those guys reported to a dairy farmer former congressman?!?
Maybe they should have been fired.
When you’ve lost Billy Boozer…
I guess I’m just an 80 year old lo tech dummie living out in the middle of southern Utah, but I can’t see how Truth will ever amount to anything. Yes I do exist there but for some reason it’s what us old timers call “vanilla”. Seems there’s no there, there.
I did get in on that day when the stock went from $12 to $150.
Since then pretty much flat lined.
You’ve hit rock bottom?
Strange. I heard Truth’s launch was perfect. The most perfect launch you’ve ever seen. ;)
I still get very little in my feed. I hope it matures quickly.
TREEmendous!!!
I’m not happy with the launch, but good grief. I’m grown up
enough to realize things don’t go my way all the time.
I can be patient.
What is with people...
Walks like fake news...Talks like fake news...
What part is fake?
Gab has been through the trial by fire and prospered. I don’t know how much of the Jew hate on Gab is real or disinformation but I suspect that is why Trump declined.
Just maybe they didn’t quit but their contract was up.
The timing seems weird.
Do people wait to quit till the end of the month? or do they quit when they’ve had enough, like the 9th of a month or the 23rd.
I gave up and deleted the app. 1 month is inexcusable. GETTR, gab, and Parler were fully functional immediately after signing up. Never had to wait over a month to get on an app.
A total disaster.
“the company’s chiefs of technology and product development” Is there anyone more responsible for this CF of a rollout? All this Rooters hoopla about “Oh, what will Trump do now?” is BS. These guys did a horrible job, so Trump will find someone else to do it. They deserved to be kicked to the curb, but instead, they got to resign. If you believe Rooters.
It's basically Twitter with nicer people. For the most part, people follow back. There are a lot of follow-and-follow-back trains - mainly people helping newbies get connected. I think I'm seeing less of those over the past week though.
I haven't put a lot of effort into the app, and I am approaching 2000 followers - I've followed back everyone. Trump has 847K followers, and that's probably a good guess at the number of active users who have made it in. Someone on there was tracking Trump followers as a gauge of how quickly new people were being let in - his follower number was increasing by about 20K a day.
There are a few trolls, but people tend to ignore them. There have been some bugs, but they are resolved quickly. Still, I can see why they chose to slowly increase the users, rather than throw open the floodgates.
There are some National/News type of accounts, some politicians, some organizations. I think that number will grow eventually.
Waiting to be let into a social media app was annoying, but it's fun once you get in.
So true!
Patience is a virtue!
Oh gosh no....
2 people quit????
Is that like ‘unfriending’ someone in Facebook
The horror...
I suspect there is a LOT of ‘vetting’ going on so that they can weed out potential spammers and autobots designed to crash the system
I am GLAD they are taking their time and not letting just anyone sign up.
Parler had (or maybe still has) that problem- each post would immediately get dozens of spambot messages in the comment section. It made it unusable.
Thank you...
But it's more than that, I think. People are genuinely interested in networking. I suspect that there will be future enhancements that would, for example, allow users to find other user accounts in their Congressional District.
That is one of the reasons a follow-back culture has taken hold. Reciprocity is a pretty big deal. No one expects Don Jr to follow back, but they certainly expect Joe Blow to do so.
A "follows you" mechanism is soon to come into play so people can identify which of their followers didn't follow back, and can decide whether to keep following them or not.
