HOW BIG IS ONE?
As a man walked a desolate beach one cold, gray morning he began to see another figure, far in the distance. Slowly the two approached each other, and he could make out a local native who kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he hurled things into the ocean.
As the distance between them continued to narrow, the man could see that the native was picking up starfish that had been washed upon the beach and, one at a time, was throwing them back into the water. Puzzled, the man approached the native and asked what he was doing. "I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen." "But there must be thousands of starfish on this beach," the man replied. "You can't possibly get to all of them. There are just too many. And this same thing is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?" The local native smiled, bent down and picked up another starfish, and as he threw it back into the sea he replied, "Made a difference to that one!" Each of us is but one person: limited, burdened with our own cares and responsibilities. We may feel there is so much to be done, and we have so little to give. We're usually short of everything, especially time and money. When we leave this shore, there will still be millions of starfish stranded on the beach. Maybe we can't change the whole world, but there isn't one of us who can't help change one person's whole world. One at a time. We can make a difference. One at a time. We can make a difference.

God’s Great Love
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations 3:22
When a friend asked me to speak with teenage girls at a workshop promoting purity, I declined. As a teenage runaway, I struggled and had decades of scars caused by my immorality. After getting married and losing our first child to a miscarriage, I thought God was punishing me for my past sins. When I finally surrendered my life to Christ at the age of thirty, I confessed my sins and repented . . . repeatedly. Still, guilt and shame consumed me. How could I share about God’s grace when I couldn’t even bring myself to fully receive the gift of His great love for me? Thankfully, over time, God has abolished the lies that chained me to who I was before I confessed my sins. By His grace, I’ve finally received the forgiveness God had been offering me all along.
God understands our laments over our afflictions and the consequences of our past sins. However, He empowers His people to overcome despair, turn from our sins, and arise with hope in His great “love,” “compassion,” and “faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:19–23). Scripture says that God Himself is our “portion”—our hope and salvation—and we can learn to trust His goodness (vv. 24–26).
Our compassionate Father helps us believe His promises. When we receive the fullness of His great love for us, we can spread the good news about His grace. — Xochitl Dixon
When have you felt consumed by your past sins? How has God helped you rest in the sure hope of His immeasurable love and grace?
Compassionate Father, please help me place my hope in the surety of Your great love for me as I spread the good news about Your grace wherever I go.

Howdy, Kathy.
Did you sleep well into the morning? :-)
The cam is working well enough today to see it’s a beautiful day up there. The mountains are stunning with their snow gleaming in the sunlight.

Are you finally done with the nasty weather? No more tornado threats?
It took a while, but the sun has come out and the sky is blue.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

Hey there, Kathy.
We have a break for a few days from nasty weather but more in store the middle of next week. Spring is just getting started so we’re far from finished with it. *sigh*
Your sky was dazzling blue with a few clouds off in the distance when I checked a little earlier. Just gorgeous.
Like yesterday, it started out cloudy here but the sky cleared late in the afternoon.

Hey there, radu!
Yes, today was practically perfect! Just a breeze and only reached into the low 80s. The kitties were happy. It was very warm in the sun, so they found shade to keep them cool. Those black and dark coats....We are supposed to have “storms” tomorrow and I guess that MIGHT include rain. Not holding my breath though.
Hope it was nice there, too. No rain? Allergies better?

Glad to hear you got a break today and reeeeeeally hope you get some rain tomorrow. You’re so desperate for it.
It was nice enough here. Cloudy at first, then it cleared up. Still on the cool side but slowly warming up.
Allergies are rampant. They were talking about the pollen count during the weather report and showed a graph. We’re at 9 right now on a scale of 1 to 10. Ugh!

YUK! It just doesn’t matter how pretty the weather is, if the pollen is that high, it’s gotta be a bad day. Made me want to sneeze just to read your post. LOL!
I don’t know what’s in the air here, but I have coughed and coughed. Dust probably. Hack-—wheeze-—
