Mexico suspends subsidy on gasoline in border region with U.S.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico, which has been subsidizing gasoline to shield residents from price spikes, announced on Saturday that the policy would not apply this coming week in the border region with the United States, including Tijuana, one of the busiest border crossings in the world.

The government's statement did not give a reason for the suspension, which will from April 2 and April 8, in some cities in the border states of Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Sonora and Baja California.

The announcement, however, comes amid reports that since fuel prices have spiked after Russia invaded Ukraine, people living in the United States are driving across the border into Mexico in search of lower gas prices.

Mexico's subsidy policy has been championed by the government of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who has long promised to insulate consumers from sharp price hikes at the pump.

Reason enough to invade Mexico, the dangerous Narco State that keeps sending their less-than-best to illegally colonize America. Set up a 100 mile buffer zone. Patrolled by military rather than DHS. Establish emBASEees, all along the perimeter. Intercept the illegal colonizers, dump them on the other side of the bufferzone in Mehico.

Sadly we canโ€™t even control a bunch of drug addicted perverts in DC. Mexico will eat our lunch and we will end up with indigestion - because our leaders lack any capability for competence or the will to fight. They will probably build them a highway with subsidized gas at taxpayer expense instead. Which would people believe is most likely? They should think of some good names for the highway while they decide.

We need
to secede.

from my home page

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Secession

It's time for us to jettison those who reject our national values because there's no changing them. Time to secede.

We should extend the invitation to secede on a county by county basis.

While we're at it, since we'd be forming a new country, we should extend the invitation to counties in Canada and Mexico as well.

Note that this option is becoming increasingly popular.

BS. Prices were rising quickly BEFORE Vlad invaded Ukraine. Brandon did that. See...he even admits it...

I remember once when a Democrat President (Clinton?) pulled the “I’ll release XXXX barrels of SPR oil to help solve the NE heating oil problem.” The oil didn’t just get spit out to the refiners - there were a few new ‘middlemen’ who popped up and resold it. One of them I read lived in a cheap NYC apartment and had never been in that business at all or any connection to it. But he had connections enough to become a middleman... I always wonder just what that connection (political) was.

Temporarily repealing the gas tax just takes money directly out their pockets - bad. It’s not like it’s something they never paid for directly and just threw into a hole in the ground...
