Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) claimed in an interview posted Thursday that fellow lawmakers have invited him to an orgy and done cocaine in front of him.
The remarks from Cawthorn, 26, who in his 14 months as a congressman has developed a reputation for unpredictable statements, came in the context of a discussion about whether, in "Warrior Poet Society" podcast host John Lovell's words, "House of Cards" was a “fictitious show” or if it was “closer to like a documentary.”

If he’s telling the truth, he should be prepared to name them. Otherwise, he’s just part of the same corruption.
You can’t prove anything. it is just hearsay.
This is a good strategy. It gives them a warning; they will stay away from you. And you put the names in a safe place as a reserve.

A Washington lobbyist once told me unless your Congressman is independently wealthy, he or she is corrupted during the first term. The traps used for new representatives and senators are sex, money, and addiction (drugs/alcohol). Almost all who don’t fall for sex will need money to get reelected and obtaining access to donor and/or party funds requires ethical “compromise” and the resulting vulnerability. For those desiring to accumulate personal wealth there are many insider deal opportunities which also create vulnerability. Look how many come to Washington with little and retire as multimillionaires.
Those very few who are independently wealthy (don’t need the money), and are morally straight, fall for the greatest aphrodisiac of all — power. Climbing the ladder to status - committee chairman, party whip, party leader requires even the most independently wealthy person to make deals which include accepting an element of vulnerability.
The lobbyist also said once the rules of the game are explained to new members, those who have the moral fiber to say no invariably choose not to run for reelection to a second term. They go through the motions and gracefully bow out, telling no tales in order to protect their families. After all there are few families in which someone (spouse, child, sibling, parent) doesn’t have an addiction, money, shady business venture, tax evasion, or sex issue which the family does not want publicized.
The often repeated saying about working in Washington is true. “If you want a friend, get a dog”. It is a dog eat dog, backstabbing, and totally corrupt environment.

Sometimes the best thing hing is to make everyone else back off. The likelihood of his story being true is high. The effect of him naming names without proof positive is libelous and slanderous, and will not change anything except for prurient interests of outsiders.
