French President Emmanuel Macron has warned against verbal "escalation" with Moscow after his US counterpart Joe Biden described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a "butcher."
"I would not use those words," Macron said in an interview with broadcaster France 3.
The French president stressed that "everything must be done to stop the situation from escalating" if there is to be any hope in stopping Russia's war in Ukraine.
Macron told France 3 he saw his task as "achieving first a cease-fire and then the total withdrawal of (Russian) troops by diplomatic means. If we want to do that, we can't escalate either in words or actions."
In a fiery speech in Warsaw on Saturday night, Biden called Putin a "butcher" and said, "This man cannot remain in power." The White House later said the US was not calling for regime change in Russia.

Biden’s words are in keeping with his cheap moral preening, which is exactly all he knows how to do. Has been doing it for fifty years.
When Trump announced for office, he said it was for the purpose of MAGA. Trump exalted the American people and the American nation.
When Biden announced for office, he claimed it was Trump’s remarks at Chancellorsville that stirred up his righteous soul, although it is a lie and he knows it is a lie. But he needed something to give everybody a clue that he is such a righteous dude that, like Lot, mourns over the moral shortcomings of Americans.
Biden’s job, as he sees it, is to ride herd over a nation that never was great and can never be great, but can serve as a platform where he can parade his greatness. Biden is such an obnoxious fraud that just might destroy us all.
Mean while we are going down the toilet. I think the election was stolen. There are bad people that want to see us fail. So this guy gets put into power and he is selling us down the road for money. They are all collecting it. This war is there retirement because they know if they can’t find a way to cheat during the midterms then they lose power. If they do then do you think the media will keep carrying there water and not reporting certain things or twisting things for the dems. And will social media continue to sensor people. Trump was going to remove certain privileges they had.
We have to get these people out of office. Not sure we can withstand another 2 years of this.,

Oh yes they are - as usual Europe is hiding behind Bidens ‘condition’ just like those really running the country and this sinister happenings world wide . hey know everybody knows he’s cognitively off - but what a great excuse and cover while they continue their agendas.
Frankly Biden lets the truth out - he said no US troops in Ukraine while he tells the troops they’re going there. He said the election was the best steal of an election - while his staff simply denies it. - He said his pparty isn’t interested in regime change while he says Putin cannot stay in power. On and On....
What Biden says off script is what they know they have to sweep back under the rug.

I’ve never known a leader to be this inarticulate. With his statements yesterday, I don’t see how there can be any negotiations.
The Russians will now act without concern for what the WH reaction will be, Joe Stolen’s comments can’t be walked back. You cannot demand the removal of an adversary and then expect him respect you. He has left the playing field to Russians, took his ball and gone home. Instead of being noble, he now looks like a careless fool.
I can’t take any of these people seriously since nato and America have done way worse things than Russia. People need to get a grip and start trying to make a peace deal instead of hoping for more blood shed just to line the pockets of war profiteers
