I am sick of hearing about this “war crimes” hypocrisy, especially when prisoners are shot. Sometimes it’s not practical to handle POW’s, and sometimes our kids are just pissed off. I had a friend who was an acting platoon leader under Gen. Mark Clark, Italian campaign,1943. I asked him if he ever shot prisoners. His reply was “I never killed a German who had his hands up, and when I caught my guys doing it, they got a good ass chewing.” That’s reality.
