War in Ukraine sparks concerns over worldwide food shortages

Three weeks after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, the war is starting to have devastating effects not only on the ground, but in many countries that rely on Ukraine’s important wheat production. The United Nations has warned of a “hunger hurricane”, which is already starting to be felt in Northern Africa. FRANCE 24 takes a closer look.

On March 14, the UN’s Secretary-General Antonio Guterres issued a stark warning about the wider threats of the war in Ukraine: world hunger. “We must do everything possible to avert a hurricane of hunger and a meltdown of the global food system,” he said.

The comment echoed a similar concern voiced by David Beasley, the head of the World Food Programme, just a few days earlier: “The bullets and bombs in Ukraine could take the global hunger crisis to catastrophic levels. Supply chains and food prices will be dramatically impacted,” he said.

Ukraine, along with southwestern Russia, has long been known as “Europe’s breadbasket” thanks to the region's rich dark soil, chernozem, among the most fertile in the world. The region accounts “for about 15 percent of the world’s wheat production, and nearly 30 percent of world exports,” Sébastien Abis, a researcher at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) and director for the Deemeter Club think tank, which specialises in global agricultural issues, told FRANCE 24.

It’s the lunatic green assault on the fossil fuel industry that is making natural gas and energy scarce and expensive. Natural gas is the core ingredient of fertilizer. Farmers can’t get it or afford it . Crop yields are down. Blame the green lunatics, idiots like John Kerry, the people who voted for and stole the election for the corrupt Biden for the coming famines and the wars that will result.

So they are going pretend that Ukraine is the cause of the food shortage they engineered by crippling the supply chain and stopping natural gas production, which is how fertilizer is produced.

They also need the war to disguise all the vaccine deaths as war deaths.

Would you rather eat, or hate Putin. Demented Joe says we can’t have both.

Bad enough before this year’s harvest is impacted by this.

The actions of Russia will affect the global fertilizer market, as 90% of all fertilizer is consumed outside of the United States, according to TFI.

Russia is the second-largest producer of ammonia, urea and potash and the fifth-largest producer of processed phosphates. The country accounts for 23% of the global ammonia export market, 14% of urea, 21% for potash and 10% of the processed phosphates.

Or the continuing drought in the American West. Pretty much your perfect storm.

That would explain why Blackrock is buying up all that real estate at above-market prices.

They know the US dollar is a zombie currency.

That’s why the Soviets want it back. It is the breadbasket of Eastern Europe. All that wheat that grows there makes a lot of Ruskies happy in the tummy with that dark bread.

This was by design and intended by the globalists. And yet, we let them skate.
