I stopped trusting Pence when he got Gen. Flynn fired. Then, again, when he was tasked with overseeing Covid and Fauci.

The 12th Amendment is very clear about the process. If a state submits a slate of electors when the electoral votes are counted in Congress, then that’s it. Giving anyone in that room the power to overturn — or even delay — a slate of electors from a single state turns the entire process upside down. The power of the states in a presidential election is absolute, and is not subject to any kind of nonsense from the legislative branch of government.
Question: There is a video of Pence being given something after the vote to certify. It looked like a coin, obviously a congratulatory move on the presentors part and Pence quickly took and pocketed it. Is this ceremony too? What was Pence given? Why after the vote was this done and why on the Senate floor? Just curious because the question has never been answered.
