Pence has distanced himself from Trump in the months between the election and leaving the White House, and has further done so in the year plus since Biden's inauguration.
Trump repeated his claim that the election was stolen and that he wanted Pence to delay certification so that the outcome could be contested in court and ultimately overturned. All court cases so far involving the claims of fraud in the 2020 election have been dismissed or otherwise ruled out of the former president's favor.
When speaking with the Examiner in a wide-range interview in Florida this week, Trump called Pence a 'really fine person' but said their relationship is broken past repair.

John Roberts may be a snake but he has some common sense. When the Democrats impeached President Trump for the second time, Roberts refused to play along with the farce. Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, in his role as the president pro tempore was the Judge in the impeachment trial. He would have done the same if Pence didn't do his part.

Pence is an idiot. There is nothing Un-American about ensuring accurate vote counts. And the founders didn’t specify mere ceremonial functions in the constitution. That was a meat and potatoes document.
He was a coward on the 6th, he worked hard to undermine him after the election. He got Flynn fired with his lies. He undermined Trump with Mueller. And he shafted America when he let Fauci run wild.

The Founders did not take the time to specify “ceremonial” roles. They were creating a governmental blueprint. He had an actual duty to certify that count as legitimate in the face of obvious widespread fraud.

It is that simple. Send them back to the states in question noting that there are different slates of electors and that Governors and Secretaries of State took in on themselves to change election laws in defiance of the constitution. They may flip him the finger and send it back. The Supreme court might over-rule him a few days later.
Why the fear that some court may tell him no? The coward didn’t even try. He was a backstabber from at least October of 2016 when he tried to organize a “Dump Trump” movement after the grab em by the pussy tape.
