The mayors of New York City and Washington, DC urged their cities’ homeless populations to seek shelter Sunday as a “cold-blooded killer” who had shot at least five vagrants remained on the loose.
A lone gunman is suspected of targeting sleeping homeless men in a series of shootings in DC and the Big Apple this month that has so far left two men dead and three others wounded.
New York Mayor Eric Adams and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser said they were coordinating with federal authorities to investigate the crimes before he strikes again.

We used to have a place for homeless. It was white and the staff also wore white.
Until Geraldo, these places worked pretty decent at helping them.

There are shelters for the homeless but I would think they either are full up or the ones who choose to sleep on the street have refused the shelters.

Probably a rich white guy with a limo driver.
Some reports state he has orange hair.
Others say that he is a fairly well-off architect with a grudge.

When they catch the killer, they will find he was probably arrested a dozen times and set free.

We’re talking about people who lay on the street and take heroin and fentanyl all day. Are they really going to care about a little extra danger?

The one that Geraldo showcased had problems. However, the solution was to update them and not close them.
There is no reason why we can’t bring them back with a more of an apartment style and feel.

I predicted the illegals were coming here to die. It’s happening.

Agreed. With the money .gov spends apartment style mental health facilities could be done. (See NYC Mayor DeBlasios wife, Chilane McRay losing $850M on her mental health project)
