Some British soldiers are demanding that their nation's armed forces introduce vegan uniforms that comport with their beliefs and practices. According to online reports, a newly formed group in the British Army called "The Ministry of Defence Vegan and Vegetarian Network" has launched a campaign to empower vegans and vegetarians in the armed forces.
One of the policies proposed by the vegan group is for military personnel to have the option to wear vegetarian-approved footwear not made from real leather. Incredibly, the Royal Air Force has allegedly considered the notion. This despite the fact that "vegan leather" may well be worse for the environment than real leather due to its lack of biodegradability and its use of plastic polymers. Moreover, the non-animal-based synthetic materials are less durable than natural ones, such as the genuine leather used in standard military combat equipment. Furthermore, the vegan alternatives would be significantly more costly than current materiel — and simply unfeasible in some instances.
The move to make the military openly inclusive to every woke group, no matter how small, is part of a broader effort by proponents of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE) to revamp military doctrine to reflect trends they say are "relevant to our soldiers in the 21st century." Such as doing away with the recognition of sexual dimorphism and gearing up to fight white supremacy, Christianity, patriotism, "toxic masculinity," and climate change?
What's next — vegan missiles and tanks? Non-binary grenades? Microaggression-free battle tactic wording and strategy? "Inclusive" intelligence briefings?
In the U.S., our toxically all-male armed forces combat units acquitted themselves exceptionally well in combat from 1775 until recent decades. Almost without exception. Then "don't ask, don't tell" became "proud gays are welcome. Women, too. And bisexuals, transgenders, the pan-gendered, pansexuals, Two-Spirits, etc.,

We have come a long way since Sargent Carter.
Maybe it’s a joke?
Maybe we live in such surreal times that we take what is meant as a joke serious.
We are victims of our own success.
....I believe several weeks ago, on the I24 news network, they had a segment about the growing (?) vegan movement not only in Isreal as a whole but within the Israile Defence Forces in particular....this is an excerpt from a recent article on the net.... wonder how it’s working out...
.”....... the commander of the IDF’s Food Center, found himself tasked with an unexpected challenge: figuring out how to provide soldiers the fuel necessary to fight, without harming any animals. The resulting vegan meal plan, which debuted in February, includes breakfast boxes packed with tahini, nuts, and dried fruit, as well as soy-based meat substitutes for dinner.
The IDF is also issuing leather-free combat boots and wool-free berets to soldiers who register as vegan, so they can march into battle knowing that no living creature has been harmed in their provisioning. (What happens during battle is, of course, harder to control.).....”
“We are victims of our own success.”
Yep! When one no longer needs to worry about basic needs, some minds wander into places that are, at best, not productive.
The West died with WW I&II. The European core of the West never recovered and it fell under the influence of the backward fringe areas of America and the USSR.
There is hardly anything about the current 21st Century culture that resembles the high Western culture of the 19th Century.
Eventually, all wars come down to a hard man in a squad of hard men with guns taking a hill or kicking in a door.
If you don’t have that, all the high tech in the world will fail.
I am a vegetarian.
The objective of the military is national defense.
Anything that interferes with that can not and must not be tolerated by any sane, rational human being.
In the USA, the Joint Chiefs of Staff should be the sole determinant of what supports this objective--NATIONAL DEFENSE. If they say eat meat; that means eat meat. If they say wear leather; that means wear leather.
If the Joint Chiefs of Staff decide that the presence women, homosexuals, or anybody else in the military interferes with the objective--NATIONAL DEFENSE--nothing else matters.
Apparently, people who have allowed themselves to become overwhelmed and paralyzed by decadence cannot understand this. However America's (and Britain's) enemies abroad understand it extremely well.
Have the vegans been made to do those forced marches with full battle gear yet?
Thanks to our spineless lefties, it’s gone from “Your job is to make the other country’s SOBs die for their country,” to “Your job is to make the veggies in the other country smell some meat.”
I wonder if the F-15s I tested years ago now have wimpy acceleration when they are forced to run on used french fry oil. (Dorkbama energy juice). Eff him and his people, yesterday, now, and forever.
Every one of past empires met their demise. History has a habit of repeating itself.
We are Rome.
Easier on pregnant pilots?
Tragically for us, reality will sooner than later get it’s revenge.
War is a self-correcting endeavor. Give them what they ask for. When personal equipment breaks down during combat or meals do not provide enough energy to sustain combat, that soldier will probably die.
I say again, war is self-correcting.
It sounds cold but it is the truth. War does not care about your beliefs. You survive on your strength, training, and equipment. If you choose to hinder yourself, well that’s on you.
Now they are all Gomer Pyle.
The solution is simple: Throw them out of the service.

“As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them.
O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.” Isaiah 3:12
