Q: What moves could the United States make beyond sanctions right now that would help protect Ukraine?
A: The most important move now is for the president to announce Vladimir Putin is a war criminal. Really. This gives enormous diplomatic leverage and a greater incentive to help the campaign.
... Q: You advocate a no-fly zone?
A: Absolutely. The airspace belongs to Ukraine. If they ask for help, why can’t we fly airplanes in there? Say, oh, it’s because of the Russians, they might come up and contest it. That’s the Russians’ problem. They’re going to get shot down. Okay, then what? Putin says he’s going to use a nuclear weapon. If we back away from that challenge, if we don’t confront it, this is like a two-pair poker bluff, for incredibly high stakes.

Alarming. If Clark says this is the end of Putin, I’m starting to expect the opposite. This guy has a nasty history and can’t be trusted.
Of course - I’m hoping he’s correct. To hear Macron tell it, after his long talk with Putin today- he wants ALL of Ukraine- not just the east region. Macron seemed genuinely shook.

With all of the condemnation of Russia why not amendment the un charter and remove Russia from the Un Security council. The council gave the USSR a seat so you could also say that since that country is no longer in existence That seat on the council is vacant.

he wants ALL of Ukraine- not just the east region. Then the Poles and maybe even the Hungarians are going to get involved, since those areas of Western Ukraine once belonged to them.

Wasn't Clark high altitude bomber who conducted the air war against Kosovo not so different than what Putin is doing to Ukraine?
I saw we make a deal and try both of them as war criminals.
Concluding with a fair trial and double hanging in Nuremburg.

Spare me Wesley Clark who tried to start a war with Russian troops over a parking lot or something. swartzkopf once said he had to send Wesley home early because he couldn’t play nice with others. 😆

A good friend did a stint of an Army officer in Wesley Clark’s era, and he described a semi-serious slogan among some of his fellow officers of the time: “Train for peace but pray for war.” Some of these guys live for this, consequences be damned.
Wesley Clark may feel good about calling Putin’s bluff on nuclear war, but I’m a tad less comfortable with that idea.
