Emergencies Act Passed, Canada just died (vanity)
A_Formerly_Proud_Canadian (vanity) | A_Formerly_Proud_Canadian

The Lieberals won the vote. The 'Emergencies Act' passed 185-151. The communist NDP voted with the Lieberals.

The ONLY chance is that the Senate votes it down. I don't know when that me be.

Canada is dead.

That would have been November 1932.

Yes, it is.

During the debate, an MP asked about WEF connections to the government. The MP was cut off, ‘technical difficulties’, of course.

In 1916, the Centre Block of Parliament burned to the ground. Since fascists like Trudeau, (AND Schwab), NEVER have an original idea, I could see the Centre Block burned down ‘by protesters’, so the little emperor can extend the ‘Emergencies Act’ more deeply and broadly.

1860: “Hey! We can get rid of mass rallies in the Nation’s capitol and major cities, and voting!” They did. Read about the Wide Awakes. A whole army of them besieged Washington DC when Buchanan was President. They fired cannon off on the Mall, and had a mass parade formation. The Wide-Awakes were very good at marching. They all wound up in Federal Blue a few months later.

That Senate brake down looks bad
67 (Trudeau "independents") + 9 progressives
Conservative have 30 then there are 6 Non-affiliated and Vacant seats are 14.

That is a lot of Vacant seats.

Correction to previous since I can’t edit and my cat distracted me: “1860: “Hey! We can get rid of SLAVERY by mass rallies in the Nation’s capitol and major cities, and voting!” They did. Read about the Wide Awakes. A whole army of them besieged Washington DC when Buchanan was President. They fired cannon off on the Mall, and had a mass parade formation. Yup. In the spirit of Unity and Manifest Destiny, time for Western Canada to join the US.

Once the emergency powers act found the politics of a person punishable by seizing their assets, it became a fulfillment of political professionals dreams. It’s always a full go when they can steal you broke over your convictiona.

Funny...one of the youngsters in that scene bears a strong resemblance to Greta Thunberg.

Very well said on all points. Just because you agree with someone in general doesn’t mean you have to support everything they do. The truckers energized those already on their side, but alienated everyone else, including all the fence-sitters. Not a smart strategy.

I believe "The Emergencies Act" is actually called "The Enabling Acts."

Or at least it should be.

I dare not read the comments though, because I’m sure the majority will say that the singers represent Trump supporters.

MFers, the whole lot of ‘em.

For the most part the senate is a rubber stamp body. It’s main purpose is to offer party faithful a plum almost do nothing job. Except in a few provinces the members aren’t elected. This vote that just passed seals it for the most part. Yes in theory the senate could stop it and so could the governor general. But those things happen extremely rarely. This might be a rare event where it could happen but I wouldn’t bet on it.
