© Provided by WION It is said that necessity is the mother of invention. This proverb could not be more true in the case of a mechanic in India’s north Bihar state who is being hailed as an ‘artist’.
In order to cash in on the growing frenzy among grooms who seek to hire helicopters to make a grand entry to their wedding venues, Guddu Sharma turned his Tata Nano, a four-seater hatchback, into a chopper.
He used sensors to give desired features to the vehicle.
According to an Indian newspaper, the mechanic spent nearly 200,000 rupees (more than US $2,600) to shape his car into a helicopter.
Guddu said that he saw a huge demand for helicopters during weddings as the prospective grooms wish to bring their bride home, but due to money problems, they can't afford it.
Hence, he converted the vehicle into a helicopter which can be affordable for everyone.
Turning a NANO into a Helicopter? How long before that lawn mower engine crashes?
I think Red Green did that once, but he used a K-car. And the handyman’s secret weapon, of course.
And never in this whole crappy article does it say whether this thing can actually fly.
Not with me aboard.
It sort of looks like a helicopter, but I don’t think those three-foot blades are going to produce much lift.
Just dont let the women dance on a well head.
If it identifies as a helicopter who are we to question? It’s a helicopter, damnit!
Probably doesn’t fly, but it has great IT help, please hold.
the eurocopter tail is a nice touch...
Well, it was made by a guy who worships a cow, prays to an elephant, and poops on the sidewalk.
What do you think?
Should have used a DeLorean.
I had to search several articles to find out that, no it does not fly
That thing is for show. If he can’t afford paint he can’t afford to make the rotor mechanism. The view through the windows does not show a space for a power plant large enough to pick the thing off the ground. There is no rotor or gimbal mechanism on top. I don’t think it actually flies.
I like that homemade go cart drone better; single seat. Check Youtube.
It can never fly, but good PR for groom to bring bride home in it.
