Researchers are one step closer to making a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test, that can detect over 50 types of cancer, available to select candidates: those who are age 50 and older, asymptomatic, and considered high risk for the disease.

Processed in China no doubt.
Elizabeth Holmes is back?
Beat me to it!
They’re gonna need it for all the cancers the vaxxes are causing.
Yeah but can it detect 50 types of CONvid variants?
A hypochondriac’s (and Covidiot’s) nightmare.
And yet they will come to demand the tests.
Thanks for getting me to look it up. It sounds like youâre right.
This has been pretty widely discussed in the financial press - investors think this will make a lot of money.
The test is a product of Grail, a 2015 startup in San Francisco. Illumina is trying to acquire Grail, but the regulators are not keen on the acquisition.
If only she had waited a few months...............
Sounds like it.
I was wondering. I donât believe she has ever admitted guilt and she always said that she believed, based on the initial results, that this test worked.
It should work because all cancers have blood markers, but I guess the problem is sorting them out and figuring out what they mean.
She seems to have ignored negative reviews while she was trying to sell the product, but even those ânegative reviewsâ may have been financially motivated, since everybody obviously would love to get a technology like this one.
I read somewhere that investors everywhere are stepping all over each other to get a piece. So I think it may even be possible that she was set up.
bttt
It does t take a lot of blood to check for various cancer factors. Putting a bunch of them together always made sense to me as a screening.
I think the problem as been that these testsâtaken out of context with patients who donât understand themâwould clog up a system that is already stressed.
If you got a test back that showed baseline factor metrics for four cancersâyou would probably freak out. Yet, everyone has some âcrapâ going on in the background.
That was my first thought.
Theranos lives!
I wager it will take 10+ years for this to be approved and actually used by doctors.
Bingo.
Didn’t we go thru this issue already? Show results. No, no, not after you get buckets of $$$. If you are so close, show me.
A heme-onc doctor of whom I know said that there are about 50 different types of cancer. I think what he said was that practically all cancers can be categorized into one of those 50 categories.
If you look at the way Grail is planning to do business - they are hoping to get approval from Medicare. Annual tests at $847 per enrollee.
This would be unaffordable, unless Medicare rates were raised by a whole bunch.
By the way - there are cancer cells present in almost everyone. It is only when the immune system can not overcome the cancer that the host (patient) is in trouble.
