Over the weekend, a female swimmer on the University of Pennsylvania’s swim team said in an interview that “women are now third-class citizens” and their “rights are being taken away.” Her remarks came after UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas, who is a biological male competing on the women’s swim team, competed against biological females and won two races on Saturday.
In an interview with The Washington Examiner, the unnamed swimmer said that Thomas won the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle races against Harvard University. This is Thomas’ first year competing on the women’s team. Thomas competed on the men’s team for three years.
This month, as I covered, Thomas was “crushed” in two races by a biological female competing on the men’s swim team at Yale University. Shortly after, an unnamed female swimmer for UPenn gave an interview with the Examiner where she claimed Thomas “compares herself to Jackie Robinson” and “mocks” competing on the women’s swim team. As I reported, Thomas broke records at a race in Ohio where the runner-up in the 1,650-yard freestyle finished 38 seconds behind Thomas.

For years, liberals, Democrats, and leftists have routinely claimed that patriarchy in the United States exists and makes women second-class citizens. Female athletes have echoed these claims, bemoaning significant inequalities between men's and women’s athletics,” the Examiner reported Sunday. “Now, with athletes who have the genetics of a man being permitted to take away athletic opportunities from women, females have been relegated to an even lower position.”
“Women are now third-class citizens,” the unnamed UPenn swimmer told the Examiner.
“Lia was not even close to being competitive as a man in the 50 and the 100 (freestyle events),” the swimmer added. “But just because Lia is biologically a man, [Lia] is just naturally better than many females in the 50 and the 100 or anything that [Lia] wasn’t good at as a man.”
The swimmer continued, telling the Examiner that the higher-ups at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are “not protecting women’s rights.”
“Imagine if there was this kind of inequality in men’s sports. Or someone found out about doping in a men’s sport. It would be fixed in a blink of an eye. Everyone would be all over it. But because it’s women, they don’t care,” she said in the interview.
"People have come up to me and said, 'This is so wrong,'" and "'I am typically liberal, but this is past that.'"
“I’m trying to do everything I can without harming my future,” the swimmer concluded. “I can’t just sit back and let something like this happen. I’m not just going to sit back and say, ‘My rights are being taken away, too bad.’ It’s embarrassing that people aren’t speaking out more.”
This Thread Is Better-Off Without Pictures.
Dude is still a male, only competing against females.
Where are the feminists on this issue?
Yeah, but you voted for the RATs didn’t you, hon? You made your bed. Now sleep in it.
As usual liberals are surprised when they get their way and it turns out to be a disaster. Never mind that anyone with half a brain could predict it.
Note the way the writer uses “[Lia]” when reporting the comment from Lia’s teammate, which I assume is the way that writer avoids the pronoun trap associated with this business.
Now loser men can have a second chance by pretending to be woman and changing the competition 🤪
NOT a female. “X” and a “Y” is a guy!
My life is complete: Peter Dinklage (The really “short” guy from “Game of Thrones”) just called out Disney for casting dwarves as the dwarves in “Snow White and the 7 Dwarves”... Their simulacrum is breaking apart.
I could not be happier with what these idiots have wrought on themselves.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
But he’s competitive as a delusional medically mutilated lunatic in drag.
Crickets.
It worries me if country goes this crazy

I noticed that too.
I wonder if the anonymous swimmer quoted used he or she?
“Everyone would be all over it. But because it’s women, they don’t care...”
WRONG. It’s because of FEMINISM that we don’t care. Reap what you sow, ladies.
Hes=’s a liar, cheat, and thief.
“’I am typically liberal, but this is past that.’”
Beliefs have consequences maybe..../s
I’d bet she used “she” - that’s the fashion among the educated these days.
But the writer for the article handled the entire situation in a manner I considered just about perfect: she used the swimmer’s new name, Lia, when necessary, which I’m fine with - Johnny Cash settled that issue with me with “A Boy Named Sue”. But she *never* used a pronoun for the XY swimmer in the entire article, always using a proper noun or descriptive noun when needed.
We can just agree with Camille Paglia, a married lesbian literature professor, who made the observation that a civilization that exhibits this much decadence is on the verge of collapse.
“Just as I thought, there was more to this story than first appeared. Why were women competing on the men’s team? Turnabout is fair play, is it not?”
The fake female was around first.
IIRC the female in question is undergoing “transition” (taking testosterone with estrogen and progesterone blockers) but still competing as a woman this year.
IIRC she started her meds late so is competing as a female this year.
There was talk when it occurred that the FAKE female and the FAKE male colluded so the actual female won her two races against the fake female.
It seems said fake female LET the roided up female run away with the races and it was pretty obvious by his lack of effort during the race.
