Nancy Pelosi announces she is running for re-election
When can she drop dead?
We had a congresswoman from here in Indiana (Julia Carson) who was basically comatose for her last term in Congress. They would wheel her into the chamber when that vote was needed.

In more than one biography of Lyndon B. Johnson they say when the exasperated VP Hubert Humphrey was being held down in the polls during the election campaign against Nixon, he made it known he was about to rebel against LBJ and make a major speech outlining his own differing approach to the Vietnam War from Johnson’s.
Johnson told an aide:
“Go in there and remind Hubert that I still have his balls in my side pants pocket.” Humphrey gave up.
She has a very safely gerrymandered far left wing democrat district. She will get re-elected.
She will resign, however, shortly after the Republicans retake the House, because she has no interest in being powerless in the minority.
By who?
Actually, I kind of like the idea of her running again.
It opens up two interesting possibilities. The first is that she will loose and be embarrassed at her defeat.
The second is that she will win reelection, but Republicans will regain the House majority in which case she will be publicly stripped of power and maybe even investigated and be censured by a vote of the House of Representatives

Frankly, I’d like her GONE! I think she is basically a psychopath when one considers her joy of injuring others...like those with less...I think I know no one who loves her freezer quite like Pelosi.
Republicans will retake the House, but there is no chance that they will find the balls to go after Nancy or any other democrats. They may give her a stern talking to.
If Pelosi cannot come back as Speaker she would not run. She has likely been assured that the fix is in in November.
Please. Do. If she doesn’t run, her district will elect someone just as bad but younger. If she does, she’ll be reelected but a back bencher, barring anything unforeseen.
Lane Evans was the US rep from my district in IL for a long time. A big time lib (that was suspected to be gay), he developed Parkinsons. He was so bad that he hardly campaigned for his last election. He won, served a short time then stepped down, so an unknown could be appointed by the dems.
He always did keep a low profile, always being praised for his support of vets (he was in the marines during VN, but not in VN), and known as a supporter of the ‘little people’.
My mother, a conservative, had accepted that veneer. Finally I told her one day. “Mom, he’s against the littlest people. He’s has defended abortion as strongly as any hard left lib in Congress”. She never mentioned his name around me ever again.
That’s a robot, right?
As much as I’d love that, whose gonna do that? Whose gonna jail them?
