Liz Cheney, one of two GOP lawmakers on the House select committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot, slammed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich after he suggested that members of the panel could face legal consequences if Republicans take control of Congress in November’s midterm elections.
“I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down,” Gingrich, a Georgia Republican who served as speaker from 1995 to 1999, said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Cheney (R-Wyo.), who has described the attack on the Capitol as an “insurrection” and not a protest, posted a clip of Gingrich’s appearance with her condemnation of his remarks.
“A former Speaker of the House is threatening jail time for members of Congress who are investigating the violent January 6 attack on our Capitol and our Constitution,” Cheney said on her personal account.
“This is what it looks like when the rule of law unravels,” she said.
The other Republican member of the panel, Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, tweeted a clip of the late comedian Chris Farley playing an angry school bus driver in the 1995 film “Billy Madison.”

The rule of law is dead and we live in a post Constitutional nation. You can thank things like Liz Cheney’s House star chamber for its death. There’s no going home from here. Plan accordingly.
These two drama queens (Kinzinger and Cheney) are getting more shrill as they see the hourglass running out on their last term in office.

Actually Liz, Newt has no power to jail you, nor did he threaten to jail you.
He's saying that members are breaking the law, and thus the threat comes from the legal system.
