Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has tested positive for Covid, and is unvaccinated, a federal judge told a courtroom Monday just as a civil defamation trial involving the one-time-Alaska governor and the New York Times was set to begin.
Palin, who disclosed in March that she had been diagnosed then with the coronavirus, said last month that she will get a Covid-19 vaccine “over my dead body.”

Five of my vaccinated in-laws got the bat soup croup last week. This week they’re back to work. No worse than the flu, hmmm.

I dunno. I take it but supplemental Zinc seems to have little effect for me (in general). Maybe because my Doc says my zinc levels are great. Not getting too run down (ha!) and high exposures(!) seem to be about 100x factors for me (colds, mainly; I usually get flu vaccs and can’t remember when I’ve had flu myself, unless it was pretty mild.)
In general I’d think that if most cells absorbed Zinc, but poorly for some reason, viral replication would not be slowed much. Kinda like weak 2,4-D on resistant dandelions.
Weirdly, my last blood tests showed slight anemia possibly due to poor iron absorption. More tests due - maybe I’m eating too much bran cereal with milk, and, I do consume lots of milk anyway. Maybe too much.
On the 2nd point, my diet is pretty high in NAC. I might ask my doc if my last round of blood tests showed any evidence I’m not producing good levels of Glutathione, but I have no reason to suspect not.

And again, this winter just like last, the regular flu has conveniently disappeared.
You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.
Well, what would you expect 3 or 4 flu variants down the line? Esp. if the latest flu had a R0 of 10. I’m amazed the “old” vaccine is still batting around 50%.
Another coincidence. I swear certain Republicans get infected on purpose. Just like Trump before debate, the Rose Garden infection, etc.
What’s positivity in your area? Mine has not hit quite 30%, but, then, 30% would be an exceptional number (prior to Omicron).
Serious illnesses definitely much lower, per case, than Delta.

My wife and I have never been swabbed, and don’t plan on it. We don’t trust the swab manufacturers.
It doesn’t take a lot of mitigation to slow flu down quite a bit. And, flu vaccinations are high for the 2020-21 season, and so far for 2021-22.
My wife’s fairly large, fairly conservative (congregation) church was at 1/2 normal attendance the last 2 Sundays. Just people staying home with Omicron or isolating due to it or suspicion of it is a lot of flu mitigation.
I’m not sure I’d call flu “disappeared”, anyway. Our local docs report some flu going around, and:

Poor practice: CDC does not differentiate between “cases” (positives) and “illnesses” above. I’d be willing to bet actual infections might easily be 10 million by 3/1 if very mild cases and asymptomatic cases were counted.
Everyone, who is afraid of getting it, is all vaxxed and boosted and masked.
