Great! You got lucky too.
We had a lot of rain last night and that’s what iced over on the roads once the cold moved in. As much as I hated the wind when I went out this afternoon, I was grateful it had dried the roads. We aren’t supposed to get above freezing until Saturday.

Same here.
Forecast was for 1 - 3 inches of snow but we only had a quarter inch, sun broke through during the afternoon and between the sunlight and strong NW winds....NO BLACK ICE TONIGHT!

Are you having a heatwave up there?
All of the frigid air seems to have come south.

You might be cold even longer since you’re farther north. We’re only expecting upper 30s Saturday.
I’m ready to just go into hibernation and wake up when spring decides to show up. LOL

Believe it or not, that sounds very similar to what our weather will be tonight. We might possibly be a bit warmer than you tomorrow. It was COLD when I went out to feed the kitties. Neither h them nor me are acclimated to cold. Hope the weekend brings some fun to you!

Wow! Only a quarter inch? The radar looked a lot more impressive than that and I figured you were getting buried.
You had sunshine? waaaaaaah! Wish we could have seen a little. It was dark and dreary here but at least the wind did its job. I hate black ice more than I do snow ANY day.
It sounds like a lot of us got lucky with this round. Now it’s time for a break for all of us!

Hey there, radu! Is it cold enough for you? It’s pretty darn cold here and will be much colder by morning. It shouldn’t last too long, though. Luckier than some places for sure!

Howdy, luvie.
Way too cold for my taste, but then I’m a wuss. LOL It managed to make it up to 29 this afternoon and the wind made it painful to be outside. Tomorrow won’t be much better.

Sounds painful. Kind of like it was here. Supposed to get up to about 52 tomorrow, but with an overnight low of about 16. I guess I’ll call that winter and put a lid on it. LOL!

January 21, 2022Give While You Live
As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. John 9:4
A successful businessman spent the last few decades of his life doing all he could to give away his fortune. A multibillionaire, he donated cash to a variety of causes such as bringing peace to Northern Ireland and modernizing Vietnam’s health care system; and not long before he died, he spent $350 million to turn New York City’s Roosevelt Island into a technology hub. The man said, “I believe strongly in giving while living. I see little reason to delay giving. . . . Besides, it’s a lot more fun to give while you live than to give while you’re dead.” Give while you live—what an amazing attitude to have.
In John’s account of the man born blind, Jesus’ disciples were trying to determine “who sinned” (9:2). Jesus briefly addressed their question by saying, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned . . . but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me” (vv. 3–4). Though our work is very different from Jesus’ miracles, no matter how we give of ourselves, we’re to do so with a ready and loving spirit. Whether through our time, resources, or actions, our goal is that the works of God might be displayed.
For God so loved the world that He gave. In turn, let’s give while we live. — John Blase
When it comes to giving, what’s one thing you’ve been delaying? What would it mean for you to give while you live?
Giving God, please show me places where I can give today.

Your 52 tomorrow sounds so nice. Low 40s is the best we’ll get for a couple of days early next week. 30s otherwise with lows ranging from teens to 20s. At least there aren’t any more winter storms in the forecast.
Yet.
