California remains the most expensive state for gas, outpacing the national average by more than a dollar, according to AAA.
However, Hawaii and Washington and Oregon are not far behind, according to AAA's latest data.
Currently, the average price for a gallon of gasoline in California will cost motorists $4.65, according to AAA.
It's a significant jump from the national average, which rose one cent from a week ago to $3.31, according to AAA. This increase, which marks the third week of consecutive gains in 2022, is being "driven primarily by the cost of crude oil," according to AAA.
Here are the top 10 most expensive markets: California – $4.65 Hawaii – $4.32 Washington – $3.95 Oregon – $3.91 Nevada – $3.81 Alaska – $3.76 Arizona – $3.58 Idaho – $3.54 Washington, D.C. – $3.51 Pennsylvania – $3.51

I HAVE TO buy a bunch of those stickers and start “deploying” them strategically at gas pumps and in grocery stores here in Charlotte.
People here need to be reminded why they’re paying a lot more for everything and growing poorer by the day.
Go to Whataburger at the north and south ends of 336 for me. South about halfway between 45 and HEB.
Gas is $2.80 here in S.TN.
I also put them on empty store shelves
Funny we don’t hear Piglosi screaming about those evil oil companies that are price gouging.
They OWN this.
$3.75/gallon in Yakima.
$2.99 at Northern VA Costco a couple of days ago. 22 gallons later, you do the math.
Still, Costco is at least 20-30 cents cheaper than the local Sheetz and Wawa stores. The price difference savings pays for my membership.
“Qmart grays harbor aberxeen”
What is THAT supposed to mean?
We’ve still got tools to use, even when we’re being used as tools. Find the least expensive gas in your area, here:
Also - think of ‘a dollar of gasoline’ the same way you would when investing. Dollar Cost Averaging. Fill up your tank at the same (cheapest) place on the same day every week. Granted, it’s not going to gain you anything, but it’ll spread out the pain and you’ll average a lesser price per gallon over time as prices continue to climb.
I survived Carter. Just helping where I can. ;)
Also, paid $3.13 on Tuesday when I filled up, 1/2 a tank, 2008 Ford Escape. I keep it 100% full due to it being so cold right now.
SW corner of Wisconsin. Kwik Trip.
QMart at Gray’s Harbor and Aberdeen, both in Washington State.
Our Murphy station was at $2.85 a couple days ago when we gassed up.
Never heard of QMart. Are you sure the message didn’t mean K-Mart?
Qmart is the name of the tribal owned gas station, also a liquor store.... in Aberdeen, WA
Depending on where you’re at in/around the Shitcagoland area, it’s $3.59/gal - $4.49/gal. Whoever put this list together didn’t do their homework.
I agree, the prices in Washington are higher than what was reported as well. I assume there is a delay from when the numbers are relayed and compiled.
