A woman was beaten to death by a man armed with a pipe Wednesday afternoon at an office building in Old City, according to police.
The deadly beating happened just after 2 p.m. on the 300 block of Chestnut Street, according to authorities.
Police sources told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce that a man in his 40s took the elevator up to suite 800 and attacked the 32-year-old woman in a shared working space. Dispatchers received nearly 20 911 calls from witnesses as the beating happened, the source said.

20 calls, but nobody lifted a finger.
When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Too bad no one had a gun, a knife, or a pointed stick.
Son of Barack?
Pipe control. We need it.
I am sure they all recorded it on their cell phones.

Whadya mean? If someone had a gun, there coulda been a serious injury.
Or maybe fists, hands and arms. A handful of people would have stopped him.
“Officers arrested the unnamed suspect and brought him to the homicide unit for questioning, Small said.”
A lot of “unnamed” suspects these days. Must be reparations or affirmative action or diversity or something...

Race unreported so almost always Amish.
I’m sorry, dear fellow, Holmes would never strike an innocent woman. ;-)
He might have one of Gregson’s or Lastrade’s constables put one in irons, if necessary. :-D
It would have been much worse if she was unvaccinated.
My wife was born in Philly and was raised in one of those Old City row homes. She has great love for her hometown and great sadness for what it’s become…
This is the historical/Society Hill district with million dollar row homes and a favorite destination for hipsters.>> Not like Society Hill at all. It’s old city. Revolutionary Museum across the street. I think that building had some Import Export companies and various other stuff. Some condo conversions in the old commercial buildings. Converted Hotels from some old building. Society Hill is all old large residential. Old city is mostly converted commercial.
