Trump really could be on his way back to the White House: Ex-President's amassed a $115million election 'war chest', has a new slogan, and 82 per cent of Republicans will back him if he decides to run again in 2024

he affluent suburb of Paradise Valley in Arizona is a traditional Republican stronghold.

With multi-million-dollar homes dotting a desert filled with towering saguaro cactus plants, its residents enjoy a choice of more than half a dozen golf courses, discreet upmarket shopping centres and award-winning restaurants, all nestled against the spectacular backdrop of Camelback Mountain.

Donald Trump stormed to victory here in 2016.

Paradise Valley is part of Maricopa County, an area of 2.1 million voters which includes the city of Phoenix and its outlying areas and which has voted Republican for as long as anyone can remember.

Yet in 2020, Maricopa County delivered a bombshell when voters turned in droves against President Trump in favour of Democratic rival Joe Biden.

'It was seismic,' says life-long Republican Benny White, who unsuccessfully ran for local office and found himself being chased down driveways by furious residents branding him a 'Trumper'.

'People just turned against Trump. He became a visceral figure of hate. I was chased away. People were screaming abuse at me.'

Losing Maricopa County – and, subsequently, Arizona itself – proved fatal for Trump, who continues to insist the election was 'stolen' from him, a claim which has been roundly refuted and which his critics have dubbed the 'Big Lie'.

Yet today in Paradise Valley (population: 14,362), things are feeling rather different. The November 2020 election seems a long time ago. And for the former President, that could be very good news.

Many Paradise Valley voters regret switching their support to Biden. And when The Mail on Sunday visited last week, they said they'd now rather vote for Trump, should he choose to run again.

No more fossils for President.

Trump has more energy, youth and vigor in his pinky than anyone else in politics, including the young ones.

No one will take this "he's too old!" nonsense seriously watching him in action and roaring at his rallies.

Yeah…and I’ve seen plenty of old folks with energy drop dead. I’ve seen just as many go senile in short order. He is not exactly a vision of health.

He is too old.

Get out of the way and pass the torch. He cannot win.

Sorry buddy, he will win 90+% of the Republican vote and will then go on to win the election. Doesn't matter how much fraud the Dems use. The economy is in collapse and inflation is accelerating.

You can vote for your "True Conservative" grifter the next go around, but I will probably oppose him.

His new slogan better be: “No More Jared and Ivanka. Trust Me!”

“His negatives all relate to his shitty personality. Caustic, obnoxious, frequently puerile and immature...”

Oh, so those are the qualities that enabled him to become a billionaire. I suppose your fleet of jets surpasses his. The only shitty person in this is you.

“Like it or not, these things turn off voters that any (R) needs in order to win.”

Trump turns off voters? Gathers more at a rally than any other in history. Even with all the corruption, he garnered millions more votes than he did in 2016, more votes than any sitting president in history.

“In 2016 my daily drive looked like a Trump rally, so many houses had Trump signs.’ Then Biden signs?

If that is true, it merely means you live amongst idiots. You think they are still Biden supporters?

“When Hillary scheduled a flurry of campaign events in the Midwest the week before the election in 2016...”

Hillary’s flurry of events at that time did not match Trump’s flurry of campaign events during the same period. Your characterization is stupid.

And if you think the doddering old fool got 80 million votes, then you are the same class of idiot that he is.

“...should he choose to run again.” He’s got my vote. Some want DeSantis or Pompeo. I want Trump, because I want small businesses to thrive again.

Not 90+. Right now he has 60+ maybe. But if DeSantis makes a run and is serious about it, he could do well in Iowa and NH. Then after that, anything is possible. If a couple of FReepers on his forum are concerned about Trump's electability, I am sure that there are people in the base who may feel the same way.

The worst case is Trump and DeSantis splitting the vote, and then someone like Liz Cheney getting all of the “Never Trumper” vote, and getting the nomination.

I like all three. Pompeo will not get enough support in the primaries so he will never take off. Trump has baggage. DeSantis has it right now. So he's the man. IMHO.

Right on, even the ‘Rats know fraud isn’t a “cure all” for them. Use it too much/too often, and they know they’re risking revolution, possible thanks to the 2nd Amendment. I think that’s why they didn’t steal Virginia last year.

Yep. That would be someone like Mitt Romney. Good thing he's too old and he's a loser anyway. Paul Ryan is a lobbyist now so he's out of the picture. Two years is a long time from now so there's plenty of time for a RINO to emerge from nowhere.

“Trump’s supposed baggage”

Vaccine pushing. Log Cab Republicans. So touchy he picks social media fights that only hurt him.

Yea, all those voters switched to voting Democrat in 2020. And, over 80 million votes were cast for Biden.

No fraud. Honest ingun, Just Republican voters switching to vote for ‘ol Joe. Sure they did. I’m sure all of us here on FR also changed our votes to help get Joe Biden elected. Suuuurrrrreeee.

There was no ballot dumping, no double scanning of Democrat ballots, etc. Nope not a one.

Yup, the reporter could only have seen that in a college Antifa club cartoon or a fevered dream. Or maybe the chasers were Antifa - interloping "residents" from some place else - without driveways.

Not 90+. Right now he has 60+ maybe.

You're posting in a thread that has his number at 82%, and that's the lowest I've ever seen it. He has 90+% in every other poll that has been taken on the matter.

You are just making up numbers based on nothing.

But if DeSantis makes a run and is serious about it,

DeSantis is polling in the single digits against Trump.

I am sure that there are people in the base who may feel the same way.

I'm sure that's what you hope since you're in the Karen brigade, but you guys really are in the minority. I remember all the loud voices on this forum saying Cruz would be the guy and Trump would be wiped out easy. Where are they now? Well, they're all opposed to Cruz now!
