he affluent suburb of Paradise Valley in Arizona is a traditional Republican stronghold.
With multi-million-dollar homes dotting a desert filled with towering saguaro cactus plants, its residents enjoy a choice of more than half a dozen golf courses, discreet upmarket shopping centres and award-winning restaurants, all nestled against the spectacular backdrop of Camelback Mountain.
Donald Trump stormed to victory here in 2016.
Paradise Valley is part of Maricopa County, an area of 2.1 million voters which includes the city of Phoenix and its outlying areas and which has voted Republican for as long as anyone can remember.
Yet in 2020, Maricopa County delivered a bombshell when voters turned in droves against President Trump in favour of Democratic rival Joe Biden.
'It was seismic,' says life-long Republican Benny White, who unsuccessfully ran for local office and found himself being chased down driveways by furious residents branding him a 'Trumper'.
'People just turned against Trump. He became a visceral figure of hate. I was chased away. People were screaming abuse at me.'
Losing Maricopa County – and, subsequently, Arizona itself – proved fatal for Trump, who continues to insist the election was 'stolen' from him, a claim which has been roundly refuted and which his critics have dubbed the 'Big Lie'.
Yet today in Paradise Valley (population: 14,362), things are feeling rather different. The November 2020 election seems a long time ago. And for the former President, that could be very good news.
Many Paradise Valley voters regret switching their support to Biden. And when The Mail on Sunday visited last week, they said they'd now rather vote for Trump, should he choose to run again.

That must be why everytime he does any kind of an event, tens of thousands of people will show up, and why he enjoys numbers that are usually in the 90+% range (82 is the lowest I've ever seen it) of support from the Republican party, and high numbers of support from Independents.
Trump won the election against Biden. Trump won Ohio and Florida, almost every one of the bellweather countries, increased his vote win margins by vast numbers.... but somehow Biden wins with the help of a few, shitty Dem cities winning even more votes than the jug-eared shuck and jive artist Barack Obama with JUST those cities. Obama actually won more counties than Biden did by a large margin!

Oh thank God! Best news today. We might at last get a strong leader of the West. C'mon Don - go for it!
I CAN’T WAIT!!!! President Donald J. Trump. I wonder if he gets in if he can run for a second term or is the 2 term a cumulative limit for a president. Either way. I can’t wait for the next national election as well as 2024.
Go Trump!
Trump took bait. Yeah it wasn’t fair. It was dirty. So he has to recognize that and keep it in mind if he wants to run in ‘24. Think of soccer moms who live in the suburbs of Phoenix, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Milwaukee. Make it about the economy, he wins easily. If it’s about personality. Yeah, he’ll lose that one.
It’s winter...will be coat weather so might not be as big as otherwise would be.
Look at my reply in #24. We all know that Trump can run up the score in red states. That’s not the point.
Like it or not, these things turn off voters that any (R) needs in order to win. In 2016 my daily drive looked like a Trump rally, so many houses had Trump signs. In 2020, far fewer Trump signs, and many houses were sporting Biden signs instead. When I mentioned it here I was accused of being a secret Biden lover.
When Hillary scheduled a flurry of campaign events in the Midwest the week before the election in 2016, a lot of us knew it was ballgame then and there. When Trump did the same, campaigning in Georgia last-minute in 2020, people here refuse to believe that Trump could possibly have lost Georgia, no, it MUST have been stolen.
What a steaming pile of lies this article is.
I didnt vote to hire him for a personality contest.
I voted to hire him to do a job.
He did.
Good for you. Millions of other voters decided they were sick of his personality and voted for the other guy instead. If Trump wants a chance of winning, he needs to dial back the New York attitude significantly.
Some pull-quotes from the article:
“While Trump has remained uncharacteristically coy about his plans...]
Me: Trump is not being coy; so long as he is not a declared candidate, he can raise unlimited funds and is not subject to candidate limitations.
“But millions of Americans no longer listen to Biden.”
Me: Biden didn’t even campaign in 2020, because he knew the steal was in, he rarely, if ever, spoke.
“Trump is already funnelling cash into local politics to support officials who are redrawing polling districts to favour Republicans.”
Me: You mean like Soros, Mark Elias and Mark Zuckerberg did and do?
“White was involved in an audit of Arizona’s election results and says no voter fraud has been found.”
Me: The fraud in AZ has been determined to be sufficient to decertify the electors of that state.
“People miss the bluster of Trump. He is offering hope.”
Me: No, we miss all of Trump. Everything about him. He will be back.
Bill once said “It’s the economy, stupid”
Carville said it.
I’m still backing him
But insulting people who dont want the vaxxes will backfire on him
Hush RINO 🦏
If he’s serious about running again in ‘24, he needs to hire a campaign advisor who he will actually listen to and bring out the best out of him while minimizing the negatives about him. Otherwise, the MSM will take the opportunity and tear him apart like they did in ‘20.
Ironically those are all POSITIVES for many. It shows he's not a politician who will say or do anything to get votes. It shows he's genuine.
The article is drek.
I saw a pickup today with a bumper sticker that said, “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Trump”.
I approached him and said I had a problem with his sticker. He was ready for a confrontation, and I said, “Almost everyone who voted, voted for Trump.”
He and his wife laughed and said, “That’s right!”
I kept a close eye on the real-time traffic maps around the area today, and they showed constant, miles-long backups on every road heading into the town of Florence, and between there and the rally site to the east. Roads were still packed long after the rally started at 5:00pm, and there is still a smaller line trying to get in even as Trump is speaking. I have no trouble believing that the attendance is at least 30,000 or 40,000.
