Gov. Newsom announces plan to deal with extreme heat

Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration this week announced a plan for addressing extreme heat that includes recommendations on how to monitor deaths caused by heat waves and the possible establishment of temperature limits for residential units.

The release of the plan follows the publication of a Los Angeles Times investigation that revealed that California has done a poor job tracking the number of people who have died due to extreme heat and has largely failed to provide resources to communities that are most vulnerable to the effects of heat and global warming.

"Extreme heat threatens public health and safety, economic prosperity and communities and natural systems, with profoundly disproportionate consequences for the most vulnerable Californians," California Natural Resources Agency officials said in a statement.

The Extreme Heat Action Plan, released Monday, is essentially an update of the state's 2013 recommendations.

While there is some funding, Parfrey said, there needs to be additional significant investment for pilot programs that he believes could yield tremendous returns in the future. Some of these programs could be as simple as building shelters and water fountains at key bus stops or as complex as finding ways to reduce the heat captured in cities.

Perhaps one of the most significant recommendations looks into establishing a temperature limit for residences. California law and building codes require residential units to have heating, but there is no requirement for air conditioning.

"We're from the government and we're here to help and one of the ways we can do that is by limiting your rights, increasing your taxes and generally making it more expensive live in California.

One of our inventive ways of doing that will be establishing a temperature limit for residences."

I totally made up the quote above but, that is what these tyrants are thinking...

Warm is good.

Cold kills.

The earth has been much warmer than it is now since the last ice age and humans thrived.

We are a tropical species.

Close that door! I'm not paying to air condition the entire neighborhood!

A grand social experiment to see how people can be fooled by indoctrination especially from educational systems and the media.

Yep

When Rome managed what is now Great Britain in the 1st century it was a wine producing region until “Global Cooling” killed of that industry.

Now, Great Britain once again has a thriving wine industry with vineyards everywhere...

They can hire me as a consultant. I have a simple solution:

Build domes over the cities.

Air condition the domes.

Construct coal fired powerplants to provide electricity for the air conditioning units.

Since this is California, money can be raised by taxing everyone with a net worth of between $100,000 and $10 million 150% of their net worth. Those with under $100,000 in net worth would be taxed 50% of their net worth, with those funds being paid directly to those with more than $10 million in net worth. Because in California, the middle class WILL be destroyed.

Air conditioning for your house is a Human Right. Therefore, it should be free.

Electricity to run that air conditioning is a Human Right. There it, too, should be free.

Unless you believe in MAGA.

This is nothing but more vote-buying by the corrupt Newsom and the furtherance of socialism.

How in the world can the very same Democrats square this proposal for free energy and free air conditioning with their efforts to make electricity completely unaffordable and extremely unreliable? The two are diametrically opposed.

That’s a rhetorical question. It will never be asked by any mainstream reporter (except by those “alternative” conservative sites).

Oh, he has some infrastructure plans to deal with it. I figured the Mighty Newsom would just turn down the sun.

Based on the results of the Great COVID Mind Control Experiment, I’d say they have all the data they need to figure out how to enslave all of mankind forever.

They’ll never stop until they control everything. Too bad the majority of the populace is totally fine with it.

RE: water fountains at key bus stops
////////////////////////////////////////

At least around my area all the water fountains say “Out of Order” or “Out of Service” due to Covid concerns.

Supermarkets are one example. The indoor fast food places including pizza ones ended the drink fountains a long time ago. Bottles only. Same with “complimentary cup of coffee or tea” in front of the better supermarkets. Gone.

Last PATRIOT out of California, please turn out the lights!

Lived there from 1980-’82. It was ridiculously expensive to live there then, not to mention the limits on water use and electricity.

I can only imagine how awful it is these days.

Nice weather, though. ;) 72 and sunny nearly every day of the year.
