“... temperature limits for residential units.”
But not for HIM, or any of our Betters, that’s for sure.
The house I grew up in...did not have A/C...
We had windows....and we had a swimming pool.
Yeah we had some hot weather...Santa Ana winds...etc
But never had A/C.
“Limit temperatures within housing units”
Within days there will be thermostat “fixers” sold on the black market that lower or raise the reported temp by N number of degrees.
Over the history, humans had to always live with extreme heat. See like “Minoan climate optimum.”
Heating (fire) was with us always, cooling, never.
People just hid in shade and drank a lot of water. Everybody survived!
(Unless there were stupid and did not follow the above!)
As a matter of fact, most Ca (except the SE) does not get that hot anyway.
I wonder why they called it Greenland?
Ditto here but without the A/C. My parents should shut the windows and no cooking. I remember the heavy smog in the 60s. We couldn’t even see the saddleback mountains several miles away.
How did we ever survive as a species without an all powerful government to care for us?
Adding on to the faux statement :
“If your building exceeds the settled limits, as collected by the required monitoring, you will be forced to vacate the building in the name of public health.
“The building will be summarily demolished and turned into a nice park for community enjoyment.”
well, it used to be called air conditioning...
And why not temperature limits for humans units as well. Exceeding 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit punishable by $1,000 fine per half degree. Come into the ER with 100.6 degree fever? Here ya' go: $2,000 fine & doctor's order to knock it off and cool down, stat!
Um, a well insulated house can help.
People think of it mostly in light of the cold, but insulation can keep the house from becoming too warm as well. It will keep the air conditioning temperatures down.
I expect him to pass out fans made of stiff paper stapled to a thin piece of wood, like one found in churches and funeral homes in the 1950’s. And he will have them printed with his photo and the phrase: “Praise Gov. Newsom, from whom all cooling flows. And for him saving the environment for making electricity to costly to run air conditioners.”
houses in the san Fernando valley has swamp coolers on the roof, had one on the house my family lived in. kept the house cool in the summer, no pool.
1: Mandate A/C for all dwellings.
2: Force rolling blackouts because of Global Warming® and strain on electric grid.
3: ????
4: Profit!
Hi.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but large parts of CA are desert. Has been for thousands of years.
There is a reason for that, and it ain’t humans.
5.56mm
Yep.
California is generally considered to have both a low desert and high desert geography.
It has always been a dry climate with typically warm weather.
When I moved back to California from Oklahoma 30 years ago my Mom remarked “You will no longer have four seasons”.
“That’s right. We skipped two of the ones I don’t like anyway” was my reply.
Newsome therefore owes me a house in Newport Beach. It’s much too hot in inland OC.
“It was ridiculously expensive to live there then”
currently $600/sq ft for just average property in Bubble Land.
A lot more folks die of the cold than the heat.
“A lot more folks die of the cold than the heat.”
In Orange County parkas come out when it hits 49.
