I've been getting my eggs at local farms and roadside stands for some time now. You pay a little more but get fresher eggs and a steady supply. My meats come from a share that is shipped to me each month in dry ice from local farms. More expensive than supermarkets but a steady supply and everything is pasture raised, grass fed and wild caught.

This situation could be a boon for the family farms.

We went to our Walmart last Tuesday and I said out loud to my wife that these aisles look like those old TV news programs showing the empty shelves in the Soviet Union’s grocery stores.
