Appearing on the Fox News Channel, Gristedes CEO John Catsimatidis warned of a possible shortage of meat and eggs as a growing number of Omicron coronavirus variant cases puts pressure on the supply chain in the United States.

Sadly, you are right. We have friends who had another friend, and we would see him annually at a Christmas gathering, if not once in a while otherwise during the year. He was a bachelor, but one of the kindest, most generous people you’d ever meet. He lived way out and took care of his home and land mostly by himself. He always told us that as long as we had a useful skill, we could come live with him on his 30 acres when the SHTF.
We now have to come up with a new plan. One day in 2020 he was working his land with a tractor. He got in a pickle somehow, and the tractor flipped and ended on top of him. He was crushed, died instantly. He was found with his dog at his side a day later. It took months for our friends to find out what had really happened, but someone in his family finally reached out to them. It was such a tragedy. Miss him.
Just 4 chickens—they are free range from noon until dark.
When the choice by Washington was made as to who was ‘essential’, the milk jugs disappeared...
Farmers did pour milk out.
The local livestock sales lot had 630 productive dairy cows go thru the sale for slaughter in one day-—the entire herds of 2 local family dairy farms.
Take up to 3 years for a cow to be productive...only produce milk after calving...
IF this wasn’t enough of a warning, I don’t know what was.
MY mobile vet works at that livestock sale yard. She said she had tears in her eyes when this all happened.
Lived rural for past 28 +++ years.
Used up 7 chains on my Stihl chain saw, clearing out dead/dying/crippled trees on 5 acres.
Was 55 then.
Sold that property & built fencing on 5 +++ acres for 12 horse enclosures. 226 T-posts. over 160 wood posts inn cement—Over 2 1/2 MILES of hot wire...Was 65 when I did that.
Am 82 now & still living rural.
Then why would they leave/want the borders wide open?
Seems like it
On 1/15 the vax passport for Canada goes into effect. So truckers won’t be able to cross the border without a proof of vax. There goes more drivers not moving cargo.
So, it will get worse.
They want to kill off independent thinkers on both sides and replace em with easy to control thinkers. Like killing the hired hands and replacing em with slaves.
That too. You aren't wrong. Just look what the idiot socialists/communists did in Venezuela!! They are starving that nation to death!! I really believe what they are doing in this world now is an attempt to cull the population of the planet. I remember reading some months back about some of the governments in Africa suing Gates and his old lady for deaths caused by the different vaccinations and such that the Gates Foundation had done in Africa which has caused thousands of deaths. They are starting with black Africa and going from there. WHY our friends who are black continue to support the stinking Dimocrat party and that band of criminals is beyond me. They don't care anything about those people. It is about there votes for a puny check and some free stuff. Same with a bunch of low life whites that I see around here. Just give me something for free while I sit on my fat @$$ and collect checks for from the gov-mint and I'll vote for them. The day this mob of criminals get full control, and that day is coming I am very sad to say, THEN the cutting off of this stuff will start. The riots start, THEN the DimoCommies will start shooting to stop it. The Georgia Guide Stones in Georgia tells you, their agenda. Google it and you will see what their agenda is. It tells they want to cull the planet down to 500 million people. That is all. Who gets to choose what 7.3 billion die??? They do. They get to choose. The rest get to die. Sounds like North Korea.
“the ones they sell in the hippie part of town at the farm market”
“at the farm market with the fancy bows tied”
Nope, road side stands. There are 3 farms around that sell vegs and some out of state produce... but farmers markets? Not every weekend. And quite frankly the farmers market around here has more hardware and crafts out than food. And Im in the country.
Cage free
Our feed went from $16 to $17 per 50lb bag.
We use only organic feed from a local mill. That may have something to do with it.
I’m expecting it to go up a lot more anytime now.
Oh man. Yeah, it isn’t with out risks. But it’s worth it for me although I’m not as far out as your friend (RIP).
Needless to say I wasn't a chicken eater per se unless it was
brunt to a crisp. Later on in life I finally got to where I could
eat chicken fixed in way and in different ways/foods.
Yeah, funny thing was, he worked in the big metropolis near us, so only had a 50 minute commute (each way). That may have been far enough and close enough for him. Enough to be left alone. Enough to be around humans when he was in the mood. God bless him! Sometimes, like right now, I really miss him, and his amazing conversations. I wish I knew him better. If his friends are this devastated, I can’t imagine how hard it must be for his family. RIP, indeed! Thinking of you tonight, XXXXX! Cheers!
It stuck in my mind, I have been to the parks and old WW2 gun emplacements just north of the Golden Gate. I will never forget it, could spend the rest of my life wandering those beaches.
I love my Stihl! Take care of her better than my car.
I’m kinda rural, but not quite that rural. Someday....
HOAs are magnets for control freaks.
You can say that again. Ours is a gaggle of morons constantly at each other’s throats for various property disputes. One of them drives the neighborhood nightly, just “checking” everything. He’s retired and absolutely has NOTHING better to do. He’s got his mitts on everything — garbage service, dues, you name it — and everything he touches goes to crap — I think he’s a retired Democrat.
We put three deer in the freezer last fall, half a beef last spring, and another half still on the hoof waiting his turn at the butcher shop come March.
We have chickens in the yard, fish in the pond, and plenty of home-grown produce to go with it all.
Escape the city while you still can. When the food runs out it’s going to make The Walking Dead look like a walk in the park.
