Noem Back in the Game on Defending Girls’ and Women’s Sports (Kristi McRomBush puts finger to wind)

Perhaps the Right was a little hasty with its condemnations of South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

Early in 2021, Noem proposed legislation that would require all athletic contests in the state to be designated as male, female, and both, and that only those born female would be allowed to compete in girls’ sports.

The proposal ran into some headwinds — the NCAA was making noises about canceling all events in any state that enacted such a ban, and others raised concerns about the reporting requirements and how it would be determined whether or not athletes had taken anabolic steroids in the previous year.

Noem attempted a “style and form revision” — in South Dakota, governors can make minor, technical revisions to legislation after it has passed, but the new version must be approved by the Legislature. But since Noem had held off on extending the ban on trans athletes to colleges, the Legislature rejected her changes, 67-2.

At that point, Noem vetoed the legislation before her, enacted what she could through executive order, and vowed to return to the issue. For this, she was excoriated as a sellout who lacked the guts to take her place at the top of 2024 or 2028 presidential contenders.

Tucker Carlson pummeled her on his show: “So you’re saying the NCAA threatened you and you don’t think you can win that fight? They said, ‘If you sign this, we won’t allow girls in South

The Establishment wants either Kristi McRomBush or Nikki McRomBush to be the 2024 nominee.

But they've both outed themselves.

‘But they’ve both outed themselves’

And aren’t we thankful for that!

Oh, stop it. Noem was completely right in withdrawing part of the law the first time around because it would easily have been challenged. This is much better written and more effective.

Obviously, she was motivated to try again not only because of her own opinions, but because of support from the voters for a good policy protecting real women’s sports and activities. So somehow it’s a bad thing that she listens to the voters? I thought that was what politicians were supposed to do.

Noem is a fool. Why would it take her a year to figure out this very simple thing? She has no intestinal fortitude. Caving to the NCAA? What a joke.

Read your bio. I see the problem. You want a woman, any woman, even one as flawed as KM in the big boy chair.

Quit thinking with your X chromosome. Open your eyes. She is called McRomBush for a reason.

On what grounds?
And what makes you think they wont challenge every other sane legislation?

This is much better written and more effective.

And the far left crazies are still trashing it and will challenge it in court like they almost always do.

I was never critical her for allegedly “botching” this whole thing in the first place.

There is absolutely no reason for a state government to get involved in an issue where the alleged “victims” of an unjust policy involving a business or school have been totally silent in their own defense.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in the ongoing farce involving the University of Pennsylvania dude who is swimming against female competitors. UPenn is an Ivy League school, which means the women forced to compete against him aren’t even going to school on athletic scholarships. They can all just quit and start their own swim team.

And yet you haven’t heard a peep of protest from any of these women, and as far as I know there hasn’t been a single one of them who quit the team and stopped competing against the dude.

There’s no need for normal people to even get involved here.

It's a terrible thing she failed to listen to voters to start off with, on an issue as important as this one.

Hate to be the one to break it to you but women politicians suck just as much as men. Some are even worse than men. Some non politician women are just as evil as men. Your vaginas credit you nothing.

Except there have been plenty of protests from these women, most of them posted tight here on FR. Look it up.

Which girls you talking about?
I don't know a single woman/girl who supports competing in sports against men dressed like women.

As far as I can tell, every “protest” you cite here involved an unidentified competitor complaining anonymously through a family member or other third party. That’s not a protest. For heaven’s sake — just quit the damn team or wear a “Let’s Go Brandon” swim cap and take two hours to complete a race that is usually done in less than 2 minutes. Do SOMETHING.

Complaining anonymously is like Rosa Parks meekly moving her ass to the back of the bus, then going home at night and “protesting” by posting online through her @OutragedAuntJemima social media account.

Don’t worry oligarchs - She will return to her masters as reliably as a dog returns to its vomit. She and Haley are not conservatives. They are oligarch shills.
