The father and son who chased Ahmaud Arbery and shot him in February 2020 will die in prison after being sentenced to life without parole on Friday.
Travis and Gregory McMichael were both sentenced to life without parole, while their neighbor William Roddie Bryan, 52, - who filmed the murder - will be eligible for parole.
Judge Timothy R. Walmsley did not specify how long he would have to spend in prison - prosecutors asked that he spend at least 15 years behind bars. Typically, the minimum in Georgia is 30 years.

“Arbery pleaded guilty to charges that he carried a gun onto a high school campus in 2013, a year after he graduated. Rodney Ellis, police chief for the Glynn County school system, testified at Wednesday’s hearing that Arbery tried to evade officers on foot and stopped only when two of them pointed guns at him.
“He was also arrested in 2017 on charges that he tried to steal a TV from a Walmart. Court records show he pleaded guilty to shoplifting. Arbery was on probation at the time of his death.”
Because black criminals lives matter
Victims of black mob justice and liberal political correctness.
Buckle-up, Buttercup cause dey bee comin’ fo’ yo’ white ass nex.
“black jogger”
Good, these fools deserve every day of it
So that gives you the right to murder him in cold blood?
Just asking
He may have been murdered, but it was in the heat of the moment, and not in cold blood.
They were railroaded. This was a kangaroo court if ever there was one. Was it ever established what Arbery was really doing in the area?
I imagine that after that piece of sh*t punched him in the face, the younger McMichael was pretty hot blooded about it.
That human garbage Aubery needed to be shot. It's just unfortunate that three innocent men's lives have been ruined over that piece of trash so that politicians can pretend they are serious about Black Lives Matters propaganda.
Political trial, political verdict. All fake theater put on by the powers that be to hold onto power.
That was cold blood
They killed him because they thought he stole their gun a few weeks ago
These three fools chased this guy around a development, struck him with a truck, blocked him in twice and finally shot him dead, three shot gun blasts.
That is cold blood.
These fools deserved the electric chair
William Roddie Bryan, 52, - who filmed the murder also gets life
Photography is not a crime.
Georgia murder laws don't make a difference.
You need to take the politics out of this and just look at the hard facts, like a real jury would do.
Once you get out of that mindset that you have now, you can understand what murder is and why they needed to go to jail, honestly, they should get the chair.
So Arbury committed crimes and was sentenced. The McMichael’s also committed crimes and they have been sentenced too. What’s your point?
Photography is not a crime, you are 100% correct on that assessment.
However, blocking the victim and striking him with your truck is and does make you an accessory to the murder.
Well he was black and was jogging….. away from casing out potential robbery.
“black jogger”
I read he was a jogger but I never learned why he always wore a tuxedo.
The Georgia Citizens Arrest law was in effect when the son shot the black suspect in self defense after he attacked him. They are political prisoners.
Armed black militants gathering outside the courthouse today intimidated the judge
Their life without parole wont be long in a Georgia prison.
The photographer didn’t actually hit him with his truck. Prosecuters claim he attempted to.
