The law states that a citizen arrest can be made if an actual crime IS occurring.
No crime, citizen arrest does not apply.
Murder, plain and simple.
They got out of the truck and pointed the shotgun at him. Self defense doesn’t apply.
They shot a man down in cold blood.
They deserve the chair.
Outrageously political verdict and sentence.
Well if I was on a street walking or running and a truck with two guys yelling at me to stop with rifle in hand I’d certainly run faster and or fight them.

No, neither the law nor the jury held that Aubrey was murdered “in cold blood,” which was your position from the get-go.
As for your self-defense comment, you are confusing me: Didn’t YOU say — in an earlier post — that Aubrey acted in self-defense, and that he was justified in doing so? Are you now saying he didn’t?
The jury came back with the correct finding of murder; it DID NOT find the killing was done “in cold blood” (which is not even a legal standard in Georgia, anyway).
Just admit you misspoke by using the phrase “in cold blood.” Or, keep digging the hole you’ve already dug.
Video of Arbery at the construction site clearly show he was wearing running shoes.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
And yet none were found on him or anywhere along the way he had travelled. Puzzling.

The law allowed citizens to arrest someone they reasonably suspected of trying to escape from a felony. Arbery committed no felony so they had no reason to stop him, much less threaten him.
If the McMichael's hadn't killed him then they wouldn't be in jail for the rest of their life.
Every time I saw a picture of the jogger, he was always wearing a tux.

But they were not given the death penalty.
Do you know why?
There was no evidence that Arbery was ripping off any of those houses.
Perhaps he used magic to shrink his thefts to fit onto his keychain, or into his pocket, and planned to resize them on his return home? Or maybe he moved them into a parallel universe for “safekeeping”?
Clearly the police could not find them or the mythical weapon he had hidden in his pocket. Nor did the autopsy find drugs or alcohol in his bloodstream.
Everyone here seems to be sure he was an archcriminal mastermind the police had an APB posted on.
