An Ohio high school football player who says coaches forced him to eat a pizza covered with pepperoni grease in violation of his religious beliefs is suing his former district and the ousted coaches.
The former Canton McKinley High School athlete and his parents filed a federal civil rights suit this week seeking millions of dollars in damages and alleging violations of his religious freedom and constitutional rights.
The athlete says in the lawsuit that coaches were notified he doesn’t eat pork or pork residue as a member of the Hebrew Israelite religious faith, but that they ordered him to eat the pizza as punishment for missing an offseason workout — and indicated his spot on the team was at risk if he didn’t.

We did the same thing with sourdough bread. It wasn’t that bad.
NOT a lawyer but my vast experience in civil litigation reminds me that in court, seeking monetary damages, you have to be able to show EXACTLY HOW and HOW MUCH you were damaged.
NO DAMAGES means your case will likely be thrown out on summary judgment.
Eating a piece of pepperoni is not likely to get you some bucks in court! I hope the judge sanctions the lawyer that filed the lawsuit (sanctions means makes the LAWYER that filed the lawsuit pay the coach’s legal fees)

Problem with that is the kid ISN’T Jewish. The article conveniently left out the “BLACK” in describing the “religion” the kid belongs to.

The same Jesus who told Peter that he could eat any food he wanted? Jesus fulfilled the old law, including the dietary ones and now we are under His new testament.
This kid doesn’t deserve millions in damages, but that said the coach sounds like a real jerk who deserves to be fired, no different than the “educators” pushing the trans agenda on Christian children and pushing them to repudiate their religion. If the “QAnon shaman” idiot can get organic food in prison, how hard can it be to order a plain cheese pizza for a school event?

Actually, Jews consider Black Hebrews to be schvartzes.
Suck strict dietary rules usually come from the family. One phone call to daddy would usually shut that down.
The government of Israel likes to make non-Jews citizens (except evangelical Christians). A number of these Black Hebrews have made.their way to Israel over the years. They’ve proven to be so noxious that even the Godless Israeli government is trying to expel them.
This kid needs to pick up a bible and read it.
