The blast at a Texas oil refinery early Thursday will probably push already high gasoline prices even higher — although not immediately.
The blast and resulting fire at the ExxonMobil plant in the Houston-area city of Baytown, Texas, injured at least four workers. The accident could hamper output at one of America’s largest refineries for months, weighing on gasoline supply at at time when US refining capacity has already been reduced, said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst for the Oil Price Information Service.
“They’re not going to have all systems go for a couple of quarters,” he said.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas now stands at $3.29, down 11 cents from a month ago, but still up $1.05 per gallon, or 47%, from a year ago. Gas prices have been a major factor in the rate of inflation hitting a 39-year high.
Kloza said he would not be surprised to see average prices rise to $4 a gallon in much of the country this spring and summer as the economy continues to recover and demand for gas increases. The limited supply of gasoline due to the loss of refining capacity in the United States and elsewhere will only help lift prices higher.
The left are nothing but nerds, and nerds rarely know anything no matter how arrogant and self-aggrandizing they act so others think they are smart.
You’ve got to be kidding.
There isn’t grid capacity as it is, at least here in TX, and you want more electric cars? Lol.
Will need a lot of new power generation and infrastructure built which will take time.
The best way to beat gas prices with Democrats in office is to offset the costs.
1. Chevron
2. ETF USO

What are you running all night to draw that much electricity?
NIGHTTIME is when demand is LOWEST on the grid ....
Gas should be .50 cents a gallon. High gas prices are artificial, since high gas prices are caused by lack of new gas refineries, lack of oil drilling, and lack of the geological awareness that oil is a natural, renewable substance. Illogical and unethical people make gas more than .50 cents a gallon. I asked a geology student at one of the ten University of Californias if gas was a renewable substance. He said, he had not heard of that. Wow. And unleaded gas is $4.89 here in So Cal.
I wonder if these “explosions” are intentional.
If you know a democrat be sure to thank him/her/it for all these high prices.
Make them own it!
Nothing this administration proposes makes sense until one accepts the simple fact that Biden is serving Obama’s third term and intends to fundamentally transform the US into a one-party hellhole.
Coal is less than 20% of total and dropping fast coal.hasn’t been over 50% in decades early 1990s that’s 30 years ago. Welcome to the 21st century nuclear is larger share than coal as is renewables both are 20% each with natural gas being the dominant remaining source. Oil& “other” hydrocarbons is less than 1% of electricity generation

I have background in petrochem, and family who are insiders — I can completely, 100% with totality assure you that there is no way in Hell’s half-acre anyone would do such a thing intentionally, unless they were a terrorist group or environmentalist saboteurs.
By the time this gets completely resolved, and repaired, the paperwork that’s owed to all the bureaucrats will weigh more than the steel used to fix it. The reporting requirements laid upon the petrochem industry are outlandish; you about can’t fart in the refinery without having to give a report to OSHA.
There’s absolutely no chance whatsoever that this was orchestrated by people in the industry.
Obviously this must have happened because of January 6th, Russian collusion, and because Gov. Desantis didn’t mandate masks and vaccinations. /s
“Electric vehicles will allow the government greater control over peoples lives. They will just shut them off if they don’t like you. Or not let you charge.”
How does the government turn off all charging stations around the world for one individual?
Im sure any IT professional around here would confirm that as the person monitoring the system I could turn off Sergeantdave Livesinmi, or I could potentially turn off the ability for any member of the Livesinmi family to start a car, or I could just disable the car.
Come on over to Reno where we’re “enjoying” $3.89/gL. Probably not this weekend though. 🎅🎄⛄
You didn’t answer the question: How would the federal government turn off all charging stations across the world for the car that John Smith is driving?
Back at you: What’s to prevent a guerilla movement from shutting down all food, water and energy going to the fascists in DC?
From what I understand , a Tesla is connected and can be disabled
I’m taking odds on whether the Democrats blew it up intentionally.
