Ted Cruz Says He Should Be Republican Nominee for President

Sen. Ted Cruz, in an interview, said he is particularly well-positioned to win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, referencing his second-place finish behind Donald Trump in the party's 2016 primary.

Cruz, R-Texas, was talking to The Truth Gazette, a conservative news service operated by 15-year-old Brilyn Hollyhand. Asked by Hollyhand whether he would consider running again for the White House, Cruz responded, "Absolutely. In a heartbeat."

"You know, I ran in 2016. It was the most fun I've ever had in my life. We had a very crowded field. We had 17 candidates in the race — a very strong field. And I ended up placing second," Cruz said.

"There's a reason historically that the runner-up is almost always the next nominee. And that's been true going back to Nixon or Reagan or McCain or Romney that has played out repeatedly. You come in with just an enormous base of support."

Cruz obtained the second-most delegates at the Republican Party’s 2016 convention in Cleveland, where a contingent of his supporters attempted to derail Trump's nomination and disrupted the proceedings, Politico reported. Cruz failed to endorse Trump, but said Republicans should vote their conscience.

Both parties and the Supreme Court disagrees with you but hey send them a letter or tweet something I’m sure they will get right on it. Obama got two terms with the blessing of all three branches and both political parties with a blatantly false birth cert and one citizen parent. If the powers that be want Teddy he is just as qualified or more so than the half breed was. It doesn’t matter who runs with the R behind their name the dems control the voting apparatus they will never allow a R in the potus again. The loyal opposition party is all to happy to take their 30 pieces of silver and keep the gravy train going. Voting how quaint if you think there will ever be a fairly counted vote in this country again you haven’t read much world history we are in the depths of the Roman cycle.

I was a big Cruzer during the 2015-16 GOP primaries but I no longer want to see him run for President. He showed then he just doesn’t have what it takes.

1. He won Iowa and then folded when everyone came after him over that fake Ben Carson B.S. If Ted had what it takes he would have just said, “Screw all of you guys! I won! Carson put everything into IA and came in 4th. He’s out. Rubio sucks, Trump sucks, I’m the best so vote for me!”

2. He did that weak nonsense of declaring super early that the horse-faced RINO-woman was his running mate. What the heck was that?

3. He got flat-out beat by Trump and THEN came out and trashed him. He wouldn’t take Trump on directly when the contest was still in play. Only after Trump had sewn up the nomination did Ted come out and try to poison the GOP electorate against the man who was going to be our nominee. Lame, lame, lame!

If a guy can’t run for President any better than this we don’t need him.

Why? Because Cruz actually blamed protests at Trump rallies on Trump?!?!

—I know because I was at a Trump rally in Chicago that was cancelled due to unrest—car I was in was surrounded by 75 or more Antifa. When I returned home, Cruz was on the news stating that fact that protesters were violent was Trump’s fault...So instead of talking about how lawless the protester’s were, he was attacking Trump.

Fact that Cruz and Beck were distributing teddy bears and soccer balls to illegal migrant children several years ago is in contrast with his current position. Why both Cruz and Beck thought that rewarding kids coming illegally (advertising to others not yet at border that kids get free teddy bear or soccer ball) is a good idea is beyond me...Misplaced “compassion.” So many things could do for those people in their home country.

Cruz, like Glenn Beck, has come a long way in their understanding of immigration and Trump; and Cruz did end up supporting Trump, but I was shocked and disappointed that he would blame Trump and not the protesters for attacking Trump rally attendees.

Being an unaffiliated voter, I don’t have a dog in this hunt. But I could certainly eagerly vote for Senator Cruz in the General Election 2024.

Of course I would likely vote for Jeffery Dahlmer against any member of The New American Marxist Party on ballot.

He has a characteristic that Trump has; supposed conservative SCOTUS members should have it too: the lack of desire to be liked by the media and leftists in general. It takes an inner strength. Few polticians and leaders of any kind have it.

It was close between Trump and Cruz, as I researched both. Ultimately, I though Trump had the balls to win.

Cruz’s treachery at the RNC Convention, made me ill.

No....to Ted.

This is my main, negative thing to say about Donald Trump.

Mine is that he let the Dems steal the election and destroy faith in the electoral process. A blind man could see the Dem shenanigans coming in the 2020 election, yet Trump, his advisors and supporters acted like it was a big shock that what happened was taking place. They did nothing in the run up to combat it and keep it from happening. After the fact, they just looked pathetic and indecisive trying to stop the steal. For all the good he did the country, in my book, that is the one thing that should disqualify him for getting our votes for a second term. Sad thing is that I'm not sure there is anyone waiting in the wings who can pull off a MAGA v2.0.

Levin's misread of Rogers v. Bellei was a sad eye opener for me. Levin can't be trusted. I guess "it is what it is," when something is important, do your own research and study.
