And yet, it’s all but ignored now. Trump didn’t do anything to put that toothpaste back in the tube. Cruz is making even more toothpaste come out.

Certainly true. I find Cruz to be the worst though. If he knows his constitution then he knows he is ineligible. Yet he still runs? No man is above the constitution, and no man that believes he is above the constitution deserves our support.

Lose some weight, Ted. People are not going to vote for a fattie.

I just found the perfect VP candidate for Trump. The guy is a semi-paralyzed christian congressman. He is 26 years old.

Cruz, obambam, Harris, Haley, Jindal, Schwarzenegger — they all fail to qualify on the NBC clause. But this kid Madison Cawthorne will be 35 one day. The perfect troll for the qualification clause.

Yeah, we agree on that.

I like that Trump won the Primaries. He only lost one to Cruz. Those Caucuses were all suspect to the max.

I know there were some interesting figures related to East
and West of the Mississippi also.

I don’t think Cruz won much of anything East of the
Mississippi. I don’t recall exactly what the parameters
of this were. At the time it was interesting to me.

He lost the whole South, after claiming he was going to
win the Bible Belt big-time.

I like Ted Cruz and have voted for him. Heck, I actually supported him on FR when only Trump supporters were allowed.

I opposed him from the beginning on exactly those grounds and was never zotted.

Never even warned.

Ted Cruz was born to a fully qualified US citizen working temporarily in Canada.
Nobody says he wasn’t, but the Supreme Court was clear that this is NOT natural-born citizenship. Minor v. Happersett said this type of citizenship falls under the naturalization authority of Congress. Second, any time another country’s jurisdiction is involved, U.S. courts including the Supreme Court defer to international law or natural law, which is true with the Supreme Court in multiple cases involving citizenship questions. The precedent on natural-born citizenship was established in Minor with an exclusive definition. Cruz’s politics have nothing to do with his citizenship. My posts are not trolling. Check my history. I’ve been very consistent on citing direct Supreme Court authority to back up what I’m saying. I can’t make Cruz eligible based on a wishful invention of how I want to define natural-born citizen. Certainly Cruz has a better argument to citizenship than Obama because his father eventually became a U.S. citizen, but this is still not the same thing as natural-born citizenship.

I know. You are right. Still, I will always be a ‘Never Cruz’ person even if it is just a symbolic gesture.

“He lost the whole South, after claiming he was going to

For at least a year, he was managing to find a ‘prayer breakfast’ to go to every day. Funny thing is that he stopped going to them, once he was no longer viable as a candidate.

I would say there was more to it then what you are presenting.

Like I said.

Have been saying no to Cruz for president on the basis of his not being a NBC for years.

Still here. Never zotted. Never warned. Never even told to knock it off.

That guy who got zotted over it was pretty straightforward. There’s no way for us to know if there was “more” to it than that — arguing from silence is a classic fallacy.

And I can only present myself as a contrary example of someone that it did not happen to despite having the same viewpoint on that issue.

We all need to understand that unless the nomination is a really bad choice from the republican primary, we need to put differences away to regain the presidency. We should be happy that when it comes to capable executives, we have over a dozen that can do the job at varying levels of competency. in fighting for the presidency is all right till a candidate is selected after that we should not let being but hurt its not the candidate, we wanted to prevent us from campaigning in the 2024 election.

You also were not on the threads where the rubber met the road like the one below but that other freeper WAS on those threads with his well reasoned responses.
