Mitch McConnell Poses 'Direct Challenge' to Trump, Has 'Betrayed' GOP
Newsweek ^ | Dec 18 | BY JASON LEMON

Posted on 12/18/2021 9:28:11 AM PST by RandFan

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, poses a "direct challenge" to former President Donald Trump and has "betrayed" the GOP, former White House strategist Steve Bannon believes.

Bannon, who served as the CEO of Trump's 2016 campaign and then as a chief strategist in the former president's administration, slammed McConnell during the Friday episode of his War Room podcast. His remarks came after McConnell gave an interview to Spectrum News this week in which he spoke favorably of the work being done by the House select committee investigating the pro-Trump January 6 attack against the U.S. Capitol, calling the events of that day "horrendous."

That raised some eyebrows as McConnell was among 35 Senate Republicans who blocked a bill in May to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the riot.

"He is a direct challenge to President Trump, and Trump is trying to lead this country through these horrible times," Bannon said. "Mitch McConnell, that dirt bag right there, gave the Biden regime $2.5 trillion to fund their madness."

Earlier this month, McConnell struck a deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, to allow the debt ceiling to be lifted through a simple majority vote. While no Republicans voted to approve the debt ceiling increase of $2.5 trillion, McConnell and 13 other GOP senators voted to advance the deal that allowed Democrats to pass the increase with a simple majority vote. Trump and other pro-Trump GOP lawmakers have been highly critical of McConnell and the deal.

They can still impeach Trump and bar him from elected office. Just think about it.

Take Mitch Mc*sshole and Nancy Sh*tlosi, tie them together and launch their sorry **ses into the sun.

Voila, we get a raise in average human IQ, increased morality, less crime, and elimination of a few hundred pounds of feces.

Doubt if McConnell could draw more people than Biden for a rally.

Did the turtle actually do that? That would be the last straw for me. But this is newsweek, so I doubt it is true. The un-select committee is nothing but a very partisan witch hunt, devoid of any look at the reasons or actual instigators.

As I posted before...

As much as I'd like to see McConnell replaced, even I can see LAAP-dog media agitprop directed at me.

CNN They are trying to drive a wedge down the middle of the GOP with this article. They hope that it will enflame McConnell and drive him to take revenge within his own party. The LAAP-dog media thinks this will divide the party and cause us to stumble short of the finish line in 2022 and 2024 by making rash retaliatory moves that they can exploit with more agitprop.

Despite all that, McConnell does need to go.

I wouldn't be surprised if post-17th Amendment ratification Sen. McConnell has helped to pass many constitutionally indefensible bills. Correction welcome.

The ultimate remedy for unconstitutionally big, alleged election-stealing, Democratic Party-pirated federal and state governments oppressing everybody under their boots...

Consider that all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.

Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.

Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.

In fact, I challenge the states to ram the repeal amendment for 16&17A through the ratification process faster than Nancy Pelosi irresponsibly rammed unconstitutional Obamacare through the House. /semi-sarc

Insights welcome.

No they can’t. Not Constitutionally. Trump is a private citizen. Impeachment is to remove a string president from office. Any “impeachment” needs a would be a bill of attainder- a big no no.

China Mitch does not care at all about the path this country is on, in fact I believe he enjoys his part in destroying it.

He knows that he is untouchable for the next five years so he will do what his controllers want and we all know who controls him. If Trump wins in 24, China Mitch will do anything he can to obstruct and delay anything Trump wants.

The 13 republican senators that joined China Mitch in raising the debt ceiling should all be removed in their next election.

Bannon is wrong about this. McConnell hasn't betrayed the GOP. He IS the GOP.

It’s TRUMP who “betrayed” the GOP by exposing them as a bunch of feckless frauds. That’s why I voted for him.

Where in the Constitution does Congress have the power to impeach a private citizen?

They don't.

And as bad as the USSC has been, I don't think that they would support that crap.

Trump or McConnell.
