Americans slowed their spending by more than expected in November, suggesting that the fastest inflation in decades and shortages have become a drag on the economy and that many Americans got their holiday shopping early this year.
Retail sales rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent in November from October, a significant slowdown from the 1.8 percent jump in the prior month, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. Economists had expected sales to grow by 0.8 percent.

Food comes first.....
In the last year we have lost RadioShack, K-Mart, Sears, J.C. Pennys and Zales plus some high end stores.
All we have left is Walmart, Target, Sam’s and that’s it....................

My husband’s heading out to get gas. It now costs $75 to fill up his truck (up from $45). Increased gas prices alone puts a big dent in people’s budgets.
But on the other hand some stores are looking picked clean already. I was trying to buy a couple shirts for my dad and the selection was far worse than usual two or three weeks before Christmas. Maybe if I took a boat out to the ships waiting off the Port of Los Angeles I could have found something.
Yes, food comes first. The only Christmas exchange in our family will be love and a few home made food items. Screw the retail businesses! I don’t need or want any chinese cheaply made junk. We are fine with what we already own and maintain. Happiness is easy.
He wins either way. He kills businesses, and the middle class
drops one more rung on the ladder.
