The cost of driving in America is accelerating–and not just because gas prices are up 60 percent from last year.
The prices of new cars and trucks jumped a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent in October and another 1.2 percent in November, data from the Department of Labor’s Consumer Price Index showed Friday. Compared with a year ago, prices are up 11.1 percent. That’s the fastest annual pace of inflation for vehicles since 1975.

Somebody supported these stupid Democrat sons of bitches.
Probably the same idiots who come here and write that the Republicans are in charge.
I have a three year old truck with 30k miles on it. I was offered more money for it by a dealer than I paid for it new. I guess this is how build back broken Bidenomics works, huh?
Just wait till Brandon really gets going.
Limited supply of vehicles and soaring home prices. Everybody wants a new truck.
Not even a year in. The next 3 are going to be disastrous even if the Republican’s get control of Congress.
Hell, even if Republican’s have a veto proof majority it’ll still be a disaster. Most of them are the definition of RINO and Chamber of Commerce scum. They won’t be much different. They’ll just slow down how fast the water boils, as useless as they are.
I have some interest in buying a Ford Maverick, so I’ve been window-shopping online. The best deals I’ve found so far are at the MSRP. A good half of the dealers say “call for price”. I guess that means their trucks are above MSRP.
It’s just another Brandon effect: Building Back Badly.
Sounds like a good deal, right? Yeah, but then what would I drive? The reason they want it back is to re-sell it 'cause they are so low on inventory. Far from coming out money ahead, I'd lose money on the deal. No thanks. I'm very happy with the vehicle. But it is telling. This same thing happened to a friend of mine too - different make/model/dealership, same kind of offer though.
Oh — and if I take that deal, the new truck probably won’t even be delivered to the dealer for another six months.

Right. Biden (his handlers, actually) will rule by decree if necessary. Oops, sorry. I picked the wrong wording there. I meant to say that Biden will rule by executive order - but there’s really no difference.
Saturday morning radio Give Me The VIN... Guy buys used cars. He too says prices are crazy expensive. Been that way since covid.
But since used cars cost less than new cars, the choice to purchase a used car instead of a new car is deflationary - through the genius of horizontal substitution.
“Most of them are the definition of RINO “
Let’s be optimistic. In the upcoming primaries maybe the RINOs will be exposed and a MAGA alternativea will be elected.
To be pessimistic, most politicians are indebted to their big donors and will lie for them.
A lot of dealers are charging well above MSRP. If they aren’t, demand that they list all the dealer add-on’s they require you to purchase if want the vehicle. Simonize - $1,200, Lo-Jack or similar - $800, Interior anti-bacterial coating - $400, and on and on.
And if you say you don’t want any of that junk they will claim, “It’s already ‘installed’ on the vehicle and we can’t take it off.” or, “Sorry. Next.”
The same here.
I have a 2021 toyota Corolla and a 2003 low mileage Chevy Silvarado. I could sell the Toy for more than what I paid for her, and get a disgusting amount for the Chevy.
There seems to be some, not enough in my opinion, MAGA-types doing quite well in polling. We’ll find out in the spring what’s going on. It’ll make my day to see the likes of Mace and those like her, sent packing.
100% on where their allegiance is. Shameful as it is.
Any and every meeting with donors, special interest, trade groups, lobbyists, anything, video and audio recording of every word. Found to be in violation, automatically out of the seat and a replacement elected.
The late 70’s was a very very bad time to be unemployed.
This could be worse
bought my first used car in ages three years ago, it’s now worth more than i paid for it...
i guess Joek really did do that
I heard this from someone trying to purchase a car the other day. Super sad.
