Meh. I have a degree in sleeping. 10 hours per night most of the time, no matter what time I go to bed—usually between 9:30 and 11.

Actually, I think it’s irrelevant. Best indicator of living to be 100 is muscular strength. Lift weights, you’ll be fine. My doc says so.

If that would kill you I should be dead already. I’ve been at that schedule for decades. If the 0500 to 0600 wake-up I also did for yaars, but not now, added to it I would be gone. Evening naps helped to survive.

I still go to bed between 12 and 0300 and get up by 8. I am not a lark by nature.

Yep. I’ve been a night owl all my life and so is my sister.

I am the exact same as you. And try as I might, I only sleep about 5-6 hours no matter how hard I try. I have been this way since junior high. I’m 61 now. Average bed time is 1:00 AM and I wake up about 6:00 AM. If I go to bed at 11 I’ll wake up around 4-4:30.

I go to sleep right away; and then the cat climbs in and progressively presses all his weight toward my hip, trying to edge me off the bed. Last night I got disgusted at 3 Am and threw him off. Was awake for an hour before I managed to go back to sleep.

Pets keep many people awake. They are why God made basements and sheds.

We couldn’t relegate our pets to basements and sheds, even if they didn’t spend all of their time demonstrating their preeminence in the household.

But when these cats are done, I’m getting me a dog. He will have a nice little bed on the floor -

(As my friend blithely said when she first got her Doberman, who now sprawls all over the bed...)

Since I started going to school and then work it was always around 10pm. I am now retired and on my first week I have gone to bed at 2am or 3am... and spent 8 hours in bed with only waking up a few times then nod off right away. I do not know if I will keep that schedule as you miss the morning.

My sister says she goes to sleep around 10pm but wakes up around 1-2am and may stay up for a few hours then goes back to bed.
