The Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) has determined that referring to people who commit sexual crimes as “sex offenders” isn’t “person-first” language.
Instead, rapists, flashers, peeping toms, and other perverts will be called an “Adult who commits sexual offenses.” According to Denver Post writer Alex Burness, “Those who supported this change feel the ‘sex offender’ label is not nuanced enough and can impede rehabilitation.”

Leaving aside the documented fact that most sex offenders will re-offend and rehabilitation is a waste of time, what could these people be thinking?
“This language in the committees I’ve been on seems to be the most supported of these options. … It highlights the active reason why someone is in treatment, and it doesn’t assume the behavior is over,” SOMB member Carl Blake said.
“Victims advocates, therapists, law enforcement that I’ve spoken with, along with all of the DAs I represent, are not in favor of replacing this term,” SOMB member Jessica Dotter said.
The changes are not final. There will be a 20-day comment period for the public to weigh in before the board meets again in December.

We should have a “grown men who were caught urinating in public” list.
Most sex offenders can’t be rehabilitated.....especially after multitude of offenses.
And our Patriotic Soldiers fought and some died for this. Only a miracle from the Lord God Almighty can save this nation (at least for a little while longer . . . you know the Tribulation with a capital T could begin at anytime. . .not date setting.)

“Adult who commits sexual offenses” is a sex offender. Good grief.
As with Joe Biden.....he gets sexually aroused scanning a room for hair he wants to smell and as he smells it....and he cannot help himself or cure his deviant behavior.
Since sex offenders rarely successfully rehabilitate, I don’t see that they can know this for sure.
How about “Bullet Magnet”, “Maggot food”, “Road Kill”, or “Looks like Suicide”?
Those all work for me, and should encourage rehabilitation
I always expect a satire tag after the article like this. I shouldn’t be surprised it’s real.
The Colorado Abandoned Mine Association has determined that it would be better to call abandoned mine shafts “rehabilitation facilities.” Donations accepted in the dead of night.
The dilemma is that even if God were to spare us now, it would only be delaying the inevitable for some other generation to deal with.
And they would wish the same thing we do.
So do we ask for a stay or just say “Come quickly, Lord Jesus!”
I’m leaning heavily towards just getting it over with.
