Yup,I’ve noticed that...particularly the mixed couples.
I saw an ad the other day in which a black man, white man and white woman were seated on a couch. A voice then said something about “One of you knows nothing about football...” Then the camera zoomed to the white male (of course) who admitted his lack of knowledge. I am sure the woman and minority on the couch was coincident only. Because imagine of one of them was chosen....

I would rather watch Lubiskie Centrum Cystosci YouTube videos than the NBA. Much more interesting and relaxing.

Part of the reason I mostly watch Youtube videos. Even there I hate the commercials, they're not selling to me based on the casting.

The ironic part is the original “Jake” was actually a SF employee, the black guy is an actor.

I believe this is discrimination.
It's not the 13% of the overall population that matters to the networks, it's the disproportionate percentage of black viewers compared to other demographics.
Television as a medium is dead. It was losing ground to the VCR, then DVDs, then time-shifted viewing with DVDRs, DVRS, TiVos, and the Internet. Streaming solidifies its demise.
Digital advertising, especially mobile ads, surpassed television advertising in 2019 and the gap continues to widen.
