The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) altered the definition of “vaccine” because of concern that the definition didn’t apply to COVID-19 vaccines, according to newly released internal emails.
The agency updated its definition on Sept. 1.
The definition was formerly, “A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease.” That definition now reads, “A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”
One CDC employee in August, shortly before the definition was changed, said the definition was being used by “right-wing COVID-19 pandemic deniers … to argue that mRNA vaccines are not vaccines,” according to the newly published emails.
The Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines utilize messenger RNA technology. All three COVID-19 vaccines authorized for use in the United States plummet in effectiveness against infection several months after receiving them, after initially being promoted as protecting against infection and severe disease.
The definition “was twisted to claim that the existing COVID-19 vaccines were not vaccines because they only prevented severe illness,” the CDC employee said.
Alycia Downs, lead health communication specialist for the agency, messaged a colleague on Aug. 19, saying that she needed to update the definition and others like it, “since these definitions are outdated and being used by some to say COVID-19 vaccines are not vaccines per CDC’s own definition.”
Downs didn’t get a response, so she messaged again the following week.

Its extremely arguable as to whether they prevent severe illness.
Why not change the definition of “”disease” and “prevention” too?

As well as "safe".
Under a strict reading of the first definition, we never had any vaccines.
Polio is only 90% effective with 2 doses, 99% effective with 3 doses. So...not a vaccine, since the person isn’t guaranteed immune.
Chicken pox vaccine is only 85% effective. so not a vaccine.
Flu vaccine 60% effective
Measles 93%, Mumps 78%, rubella 97% ...not vaccines.
I think it’s a waste of time to quibble about definitions. Covid vaccines are vaccines in the minds of almost everyone.
#WINNING.
The definition does not include anything about efficacy. What it does state is that there is immunity developed. As we can see with the so called Covid vaccine, it does not develop immunity, as you can still catch it and spread it. There are no claims in the original to prevent severity of an illness. Words mean things, an can be used to mislead. Ignorance can be easily instilled by not “quibbling”
That’s already been done, with people talking about ‘asymptomatic Covid’ - an oxymoron.
They are not vaccines by the established scientific definition of “vaccine”.
The changes they made to the definition are not minor. They are major changes.
And its obvious the mrna shots are not vaccines as they changed the definition of vaccine specifically for these shots.
These mrna shots do not create immunity, and they do not prevent vaccinated people transmiting the disease to others. These two things were fundamental attributes of what made a vaccine, a vaccine.
Maybe not

So you’re saying the CDC is so incompetent it used an erroneous definition of one of its most important roles for half a century?
But they’re competent now?
The definition of “vaccine” changed in the 1880’s when Pasteur and Koch came out with inoculations with weakened or killed pathogens and started calling them vaccines. Previously the word “vaccine” only applied to inoculation with Vaccinia (Cowpox) to protect against Smallpox.
They changed the definition of vaccine, because the jab isn’t a vaccine.
And also, Rand Paul established from Fauci’s sworn testimony that the CDC changed the definiton of “gain of function” specifically so that the CDC could fund illegal gain of function research in Wuhan. Because, I guess, it’s not “gain of function” if you ... uhhhhh ... change the definition.
The CDC paid China to develop deadlier viruses than normally found in nature, and lied about it to cover their tracks.
Which “vaccines” have a proven track record of rapidly declining effectiveness after only six to nine months from administration? Which “vaccines” require a booster shot after the initial administration? Why is the booster any more effective than the purported “vaccine”? Is the booster a “vaccine”? If so, why should there be a mandate to obtain the original “vaccine” which is clearly not a vaccine? Why not just get the booster? I am not getting the booster until I am confident that it is a medical treatment and not another political clusterf**k.

I see no reference to a prescription here.
Nor is there any prescription required to get any of these stupid COVID "vaccines."
You didnt get it
T was in ref to who I was responding to about their vitamin c comment where he said bythis new definition vitamin cwas now a vaccine
The fda and cdc have been trying to get regular vitamins to be prescription only for a long time
You still probably don’t get it, but thats ok
Might as well change "Center" as well. They're definitely "Left".
